Hey guys, this is my first one-shot! Hope you like it!
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson (But I do own the poem! XD)
She's sick of everyone
She wants to be left alone.
"I'm fine," she murmured, "I am, really."
Annabeth looked at her, unconvinced.
She looked up gave Annabeth a weak smile.
"Seriously, Annie. You're acting like a mum," she said. In her head she added, Like a proper mum; not like mine.
They say they understand
But they really don't
"I'll get over it, it's just hard to process"
She looked back at the ground again.
"I still can't believe he did it... I can't believe he joined Kronos. I can't believe that he -" her voice broke off. What was happening to her?
She was supposed to be strong; she was supposed to be the one that didn't care about anyone else but the ones closest to her.
But he had been the closest to her. He had been the first one she'd met that cared for her.
They're trying to help
But they don't know
"He's being tricked," Annabeth said firmly, "He'll come back."
"Yeah..." she muttered, "Sure."
"It's true," Annabeth whispered and tilted her head up.
That she's broken inside
And she wants to go
She moved Annabeth's hand and sighed.
Why did she come back? It would've been better if I just had been a tree forever.
Almost all the time
She feels like dying
If only she could be a tree again... no worries about your best friends, about your mum, about the gods, about a war.
Or maybe she could leave everyone and start a new life.
She hoped she didn't meet Zoe Nightshade again... she'd been right. He did let her down in the end...
Even though she's sick of it
She keeps on crying
A tear traced it's way down her face and she rapidly wiped it away, hoping Annabeth hadn't noticed.
But then the tears didn't stop. They kept falling, pounding onto the floor.
She was glad that no one else was there, even if it was in her cabin. She hated her cabin, she hated her life, and she wished she could stop crying. That's what she'd been doing for the past few days and it had broken her image.
She felt an arm around her shoulder and heard Annabeth's mutterings of It'll be okay.
She's always hid
And never revealed
The true personality
Of the sad, sad girl
She had finally broken down; she had finally cried.
As she wiped away the last of her tears she made a silent oath that she would not cry again.
Not over him; he was gone; he wasn't worth anything now; he was the enemy.
Not over how her life was; she would live with it, just like every demigod does; she would be strong.
Not over the things that were wrong; they would become right, even if it would take time, they'll become right.
Not over her feelings.
Never again.
She stood up, after making up her mind and smiled at Annabeth. She pulled Annabeth up too and said, "Come on."
Together, they walked outside, talking, forgetting the hurt, and relieving the peace.
Thalia Grace would never cry again if she could do anything about it. Tears may come to her eyes, but she would not cry like this again. Never again.
So... did you like it? My first one-shot... but I'm pretty proud of it.
Review please? Tell me if you liked it? Please? Please? Please? Please? Please? Please? Please? Please?
