Rose was gone and already he couldn't bear it.
He would never see her blonde hair, her soft blue eyes, her cheeky smile.
The Doctor entered the Tardis in an almost dream like state.
His mind couldn't process thoughts properly.
The whole world was just a blur around him and yet he didn't cry.
He couldn't cry.
The loss had sunk in and yet he couldn't cry.
He couldn't let her down by being weak.
The Doctor pulled some levers in the Tardis and a quiet blip was sounded as a red, blinking, message was brought up on the screen.
'Error.'
The Doctor groaned dropping his head in his hands and dropping gracefully to the floor of the Tardis his two hearts sinking like two heavy weights.
"Just take me anywhere. Take me away from this. I can't cope."
The Doctor hadn't expected anything to happen. He had really just been talking to himself but the rhythmic whirring of the Tardis started up around him. The Doctor just sat where he
was, his world collapsing around him.
It would take time to build it back up. A small part of him felt he should stop his Tardis but the larger part of him left the Tardis choosing their course.
Rose. Rose Tyler. Rose. Rose Tyler. Rose. Rose Tyler.
Those two words went round his head keeping in time with the hum of the Tardis.
They landed softly and the humming of the Tardis stopped, cutting of his train of thought that had been lulling him to sleep.
The Doctor stood up and opened the Tardis' door hesitantly.
He walked out into a little town covered in snow to see a young, blonde girl with blue eyes staring back at him, her hand reached out as if she would have opened the door had she been first.
At first sight, through all the softly falling snow the Doctor thought the figure was Rose but now he could see her clearly and he realised she was completely different.
Her hair was long and wavy, her eyes larger and more piercing than Rose's calm ones.
Her smile was soft and serene, not hard and cheeky.
The girl had been watching him as he stood there. He looked into her eyes and she smiled warmly and said in a beautiful voice that rolled over him like the calm waves of the ocean,
"Hello. I saw your box arrive."
"This isn't just any box." The Doctor said watching the girl carefully.
"It's a Tardis."
"Time and Relative Dimensions in Space." The girl replied solemnly.
The Doctor smiled for the first time since Rose had left.
"Yes. I'm the Doctor." He said sticking out his hand.
"It's nice to meet you." The girl shook his hand.
"I'm Luna Lovegood."
