This is mostly meant as an apology of sorts. If you guess who it's for, you get a cookie.
I don't get to the apology part in the first chapter, it's mainly an introduction.
Yeah, let's start.
Everybody knows of the tales of the regular team, but none know of the current one. After Grey supposedly killed his brothers, he went to war with Mann Co. They're missing the part of the story afterwards. After these events, Grey Mann accidentally fell into a pool of water, destroying his life-support. He died.
After a bit of time (30 years) to cool down, the more primitive life-support machines were hooked back into the remaining 2 brothers, who were in cryogenic tubes to keep them from rotting. After a few moments, they resumed their arguments, and began fighting once again.
With the mercenaries long gone and probably dead, they had a search for a new team, with similar skills but not identical in genetics, so everything is based purely on skill and not luck.
And so begins our story.
The new teams were very much different from the old ones, in many manners. Instead of hiring mercenaries, they had their employees go around the world, examining the skills of random people, and deciding whether or not to hire them based on that.
As a result, both RED and BLU teams were very different from one another. The only thing that was the same was that the engineers were brothers, though not twins.
BLU and RED engineer were both from a city near Boston, Massachusetts. Exact place is not necessary.
The older one, RED, named Isaac was brilliant. He knows how to build wonderful things, and do calculations in his head that a calculator calculator can't even start, and that's it. He can build, but he can't put together. Ask him to assemble a sentry, he can't even place down the toolbox without reading the instructions everytime. He can't give a direct answer, and very often he lies. He dropped out of college because he couldn't get a single grade higher than an "F". He probably has undiagnosed Asperger's.
The younger one by 3 years, BLU, named Ethan, was about as smart, maybe a bit more. He is a bit slower in the areas his brother accels at, but he can remember more, put things together, and while he did not get all A's when learning, that was mainly because he was too lazy to work. He has a few flaws, though. He is gullible, but didn't stop him from killing a spy or two. He easily gets a big head, and starts thinking he's better than everybody else after a few compliments or kills. Finally, he is mostly clueless. He can understand implied things to a degree, but quickly stops understanding what should be understood.
The BLU team is equally screwed up. It didn't help that the scout was Mexican, the Soldier was from New Jersey, Demoman from North Korea, Heavy was Italian, the Medic was from Belgium, the Sniper was Welsh, and the Spy was Canadian.
In the next chapter, you meet the RED team, and you find out the problems.
Review. Or else I shall come to you in the night. Don't ask what's next.
