How Can You Love Someone Like Me?
As you stand before me
With a smile upon your face
You say those three little words to me
And I can't help but wonder
How can you love someone like me?
When I am arrogant and cruel
I am selfish and cold
I can be ruthless in the things I do
And can be coarse in the things I say
I can lose my temper in so many ways
So how can you love someone like me?
And you simply smile as you say to me
You are the one that gives me the strength to carry on
Whenever I fall you are there to pick me back up
You believed in me when no one else did
You hold me close in your warm embrace
And I know that I am safe
I have seen the side of you that no one else has
That is why I can love someone like you
As you hold me in your warm embrace
You whisper sweet words of love to me
And I can't help but think to myself
How can you love someone like me?
When I am timid and meek
And I know that I am weak
I am like a shadow that is always there
But never seen by anyone
I am shy and nervous at times
I am afraid of so many things
So how can you love someone like me?
You laugh it off as you say to me
You are my sun that brightens my day
You make the gray clouds fade away
You are the light in my otherwise darkened world
I can now change my selfish ways because I now have you
