A/N: Just a one-shot I wanted to write after watching the finale. I do not own anything (sadly). I wrote this very late last night and extremely quickly. Whatever came out of my mind, spilled out all over this piece.

"I'm fine" Stef said and Lena was next to her in a heartbeat. 'You're not fine.'

"You're sure?" Lena asked, crying.

"I'm sure." She held Lena close. 'Stop lying. This is why you and Lena are having problems in the first place.'

Stef couldn't tell Lena what the doctor had said on the phone. That the doctor wanted to see her as soon as possible to discuss her mammogram results. She couldn't tell Lena that she might have cancer in their garage while they celebrated her parent's 40th wedding anniversary in their backyard.

She was still mad, really mad but having Lena close now was what she needed, even if she was keeping the truth from her. They had a lot to work on; communication was becoming one of them. How could Lena have said that she liked the attention Monte gave her? That hurt her the most; that Lena wasn't getting enough attention at home. This was her fault, her fault that her wife needed to find comfort and solace in the arms of a younger woman. She didn't blame Monte, much; I mean, in Stef's eyes Lena was the sexiest woman on the planet, you couldn't help but be attracted to her.

They had so much going on and they had so much to talk about. They were going to find out if they could legally adopt Callie for Christ sake! This was a horrible time to plan doctor's visits and worry about the big scary 'C' word.

Cancer… She could have breast cancer, and she was lying to the woman she loved about it, lying to her wife about it. Why the hell was she doing that?

"Lena wait," Stef sighed. "I'm not fine."

Lena lifted her head. "What? What do you mean? About us?"

"Well yea, but this isnt about us right now. I didn't want to tell you because we have all of this other shit going on right now with us and Callie and the party, I just-"

"What's going on Stef?"

"That was my doctor on the phone and she did see something on my latest mammogram that she wants to discuss with me as soon as possible." Stef said as calmly as she could, "she said something about a biopsy. She wants me to come in tomorrow."

Lena was speechless. Her wife, her beautiful, strong, caring wife was sick. "Stef-"

"I don't want to worry about it now. Please love. I just felt like an ass for trying to keep it from you. That's one of the many problems we need to work on." Stef was crying now, as was Lena.

"I want to celebrate your parents anniversary with you, my love, my love, my love." They both smiled through their tears, "and tomorrow, I want us to adopt Callie and make her a member of this family. Then, then we can face whatever this is, okay?"

Lena nodded, "I love you Stef, so much."

"I love you too Lena. With everything I have." She kissed her then, full of all the passion she felt for this woman. "We should get back out there."

Together they walked out of the garage, wiping their eyes before joining the rest of their family on the dance floor.
