A/N: No, I'm not making fun of Kevin or Jason. I love them both to death, but I saw an opportunity in a conversation with a good friend. This is all in good fun and I wrote it for my friend Shelby's 15th birthday. She's a total Jonas Brother's lover, and this is my gift to her. I hope you enjoy this little ficlet and laugh as much as my cousin did when I read her this!

And just so you know, this actually started out as a developmental piece on Joe and Kevin, not a ficlet on Jason, Shane and a fork in the road.

So, enjoy! And happy birthday, Shelbers. Remember, girlena, we got the party with us!

All my love, Noorah.

Fork in the Road

Nate and Shane couldn't help but notice when Jason didn't get on the bus. What they didn't expect was for him to be standing behind it, staring at something poking out of the road. He didn't look up when Shane joined him and burst into laughter, in fact, Jason wasn't even fazed. He bent down, plucked the fork from the road and handed it to Shane who closed his fist around it.

"Someone could pop a wheel on that." Jason said seriously, patting Shane's shoulder and making his way back to the bus, hands in his pockets. Shane watched him go before tucking the fork into his pocket with a shake of his head and a soft laugh. He slowly made his way back to the bus, climbing up the stairs silently and passing Jason with a smile on his way back to his bunk. This was defiantly a story to whip out in the next interview that the three of them did. He fingered the fork in his pocket and pursed his lips. Perhaps leaving out the part that it was Jason would be in order..

When he finally made it to his bunk after an excruciatingly slow walk, Nate shot a questioning glance at him and Shane just shrugged, pulling the fork out of his pocket and showing it to the other boy. He repeated the conversation in an undertone, smiling at the laughter he had gotten out of the normally quiet Nate. He dropped the fork into his bag with a grin, commenting quietly so only Nate could hear his voice,

"I didn't have the heart to tell him that it was only plastic."
