"If you really gave a damn about whether or not your wife dies, you would be willing to admit that you screwed up. Or do you want her to remember you as the ever-faithful husband who was perfect for the next day or so before she dies? Is it really worth it to see her die just so you can retain some false-"

House's words were cut short by a punch in the face by his patient's husband.

"Don't sit up on some pedestal to tell me about what I've done!" The man stormed off until he reached the end of the hallway. He stopped in front of his wife's door, and then silently began to cry. After a couple of minutes, he straightened his shoulders, and, with a pained look in his eye, entered his wife's room.

Another one bites the dust. House felt his jaw for a moment. Nothing too bad…still, he didn't have to punch so hard. As Cameron, Chase, and Foreman were rushing up to him to see what happened, House couldn't help but smile to himself. Everyone lies…

After House relayed to them what happened, the team discovered (oh so surprisingly) that the man had cheated on his wife, giving her another disease. The team was then able to save the woman's life. Somewhat tired, House returned to his office for a brief rest.

Reclining back in his chair, he contemplated what had just transpired. Most people think I'm just an ass. Which is justifiable. But they should remember that I only use words… which, in the end, have the most impact. He gave a small chuckle to himself. I always consider it a silent victory when the other person can't come up with anything good to say back, and has to result with physical attacks. Yep, he would always be the victor. Verbal battles certainly were the best.
