A/N: this is slight AU. Kurt is not sent to spy on Warblers, but instead the warblers come to the hospital to sing for patients. Kurt is in hospital because of a suicide attempt, and this will discuss the attempt, which is why the rating is T. Slight AU, and I changed Karofsky's statement a little bit. Also, if you or someone you know is struggling, PLEASE get help! I know what it feels like to be alone, but as Chris Colfer said "You don't need permission to have purpose"!

Kurt Hummel sighed miserably. He felt so alone. Even his friends in Glee club were too caught up in their own drama to realize how depressed he was. He wore sweaters everyday, despite it being hot. No one asked, but it was because he was hiding the cuts. Karofsky grew more and more violent. He was tossed into dumpsters, shoved into lockers, verbally assaulted, slushied, anything they could do to hurt him-they did. The teachers and principal didn't care, and he couldn't burden his dad with the stress. So, Kurt handled it alone. One day, Karofsky screamed after tossing him in the dumpster,"You are just garbage anyway, why don't you just kill yourself!" Kurt crawled out of the dumpster, and dwelled all day on that. When he got home, he cut. Usually, the stinging gave him relief, as if the emotional pain was being bled out with physical pain. But, today was different. Nothing could help. He found an old belt and tightened it around his neck, to , then continued cutting deeper and deeper. The room grew darker. He heard the faint sound of his dad coming home, and then the world went black.

Burt opened the door, and called out to his son. When he didn't answer, he wasn't concerned. He is probably just up in his room studying and listening to that "Wicked" music he loves, Burt thought. Until he heard it. "It" being a loud bang, like someone had fallen down. "Kurt?", He called. When he got no answer, he hurried up the stairs. He opened his son's door, and immediately called 911.

"911, what's your emergency?" A friendly, way-too-enthusiastic voice answered.

"I heard a bang from upstairs, and found my son lying collapsed on his floor. He is holding a razor and bleeding on his arms, and has a belt around his neck." Burt replied, crying.

"Sir, please remove the belt, and any tight clothing. Try to stop the bleeding, and check for breathing."

"OK...He is breathing very shallow, and his pulse is weak." Burt replied, following her instructions carefully.

After Burt gave her the address, an ambulance arrived 5 minutes later. The paramedics hooked Kurt on monitors, placed an IV, and applied oxygen. In the ambulance, Kurt woke up to bright lights above his head and his dad holding his hand crying. "Where am I?" Kurt asked, dazed and confused. "You are in an ambulance on the way to the hospital, I heard you fall and called them when I found you". Burt explained, feeling slightly better now that he knew Kurt had survived.

The next day, Kurt was awake, alert, and irritated. He had to tell his dad and doctor everything, and be told he had to be in the hospital for at least 72 hours on "Suicide Watch". On his second day, a choir from an all boy's private school came. The Dalton Academy Warblers strived to achieve community service goals by cheering up hospital patients. Their lead singer shook his hand, and introduced himself as Blaine. Blaine then slid into line and began singing:

Come on, stand, up again

Stand, you're gonna run again

Don't give up

You're gonna see tomorrow

That you'll be on your feet again

Sometimes the world's gonna knock you over

But you will see who are your friends (Ooooo!)

Come on, stand, up again

Come on, stand

Stand, you're gonna run again

Your faith and patience will be your soldiers

To guide you through your troubled times

Just put one foot in front of the other

The battles are inside your mind

You have the power to face your demons

No matter how they go at times

And rid yourself of your fear and weakness

So you can start to live your life (Ooooo!)

Come on, stand, up again

Come on, stand

Stand, you're gonna run again

Come on!

Come on, stand, (Come on baby!) up again (Stand yeah!)

Come on, stand, (You can baby!)

Stand, you're gonna run again

Pick up your will

And put on your face

If you need to, just take my hand (Take my hand)

It's time to demonstrate, don't hesitate (Don't hesitate)

Just get up and say "Yes, I can" (Yes, I can)

Come on, stand, (Come on baby!) up again (Stand yeah!)

Come on, stand, (Come on you can baby!)

Stand, you're gonna run again

Stand, you're gonna run again

Come on, stand, (Ohhhh stand yeah!) up again (Stand up again!)

Come on, stand, (Ohhhh come on baby!)

Stand, you're gonna run again (Stand stand!)

Stand, you're gonna run again (Come on!)

Stand, you're gonna run again (Gonna run again!)

Kurt cheered, and thanked them. Blaine seemed to know something was up. He gave him his number, and said to call or text him anytime.

Kurt texted Blaine that night and told him everything. His dad agreed that Dalton was the best place for him. Blaine guided him through each step, and became his best friend. Through thick and then, they helped each other stand up and run again.

A/N: so, I got bullied really bad and public school, and was suicidal. Thankfully, I told my mom I would rather die than go back to school, and she immediately recognized it as a cry for help, and pulled me out to homeschool me! Anyway, like I said, you aren't alone! If you don't have anyone to talk to, please call the life line at: 1800-273-8255.
