Bra stared out her window as the pink petals from the cherry trees fluttered to the ground. This time of the year was always so beautiful. She smiled and reached out to push the window open a crack. The breeze blew gently and soft voices reached her ears. She listened for a moment and distinguished that of her Mother. Peering outside she saw her walking with ChiChi. The wind whipped the younger woman's dress gently and blew her hair across her face. She reached up and brushed the black strands away.

Bra settled into the cushions of her window seat and gazed out at the setting sun. Her father and Goku-san must still be out sparring, she mused. Through her twelve years of life Bra had heard many tales of the battles her family and friends had fought, but she had never witnessed one. She knew that threats still loomed all around, that the universe was a large, dangerous place. But, here at home, in her room in Capsule Corps. she felt safe.

Bra's attention was brought back to the sky as her brother flew past her window. Bra gasped in surprise as the speed caused her long blue hair to whip about, obscuring her vision. Pink petals blew in through the open window, littering the seat and splayed across her lap. She pushed the aqua tangles from her eyes and glared at the fading dot in the distance that was her brother.
"Baka." She muttered beneath her breath. But she sighed resignedly. She couldn't blame him. She knew the joy of flying, something that some people would never get to experience. What a lovely feeling it was. The wind whipping through her hair, nothing beneath her but cool air and clouds. So refreshing. But then, why didn't she do it more often? She supposed she felt guilty. Able to have this thing when her mother could not. She gazed down at the two women again. Her mother has always been a little left out of things. Of course they all loved her, even her father. But she could not fight, could not understand what it was like to be called into battle, how that hot warrior's blood sung through their veins. Bra supposed that she wanted to be connected with her mother as much as she was with her father. They had to stick together, being the only two women to be able to sway the Saiya-Jin Prince's favor. Bra grinned at the thought. Oh she had her father's favor all right. She could get him to do anything.

At the soft laughter, her eyes returned to her mother. She and ChiChi stood under the petal-raining cherry tree, laughing like young girls. They twirled on the crushed petals beneath their feet and spun as their skirts fluttered about their waists. The petals dripped into their hair and caught amongst the wild fabric. Bra smiled and her blue eyes shone. She was the perfect mirror of her mother. And then she realized that she had thought to feel sorry for her mother for not being able to fly. But she should not feel pity for her, because she could fly. She was flying now.

In an instant Bra was at her mother's side, twirling and spinning like a dainty blue top in the sea of pink blossoms. And here, on the ground, she was flying.
