Weird Science
When you have no heart, what good is a maniacal laugh? It's not as though you feel the exhilaration that often accompanies a successful experiment, or the rage when one fails. It's hard enough putting emotion into a regular laugh, let alone one so raw and heartfelt. But when that doll moves, opens it's eyes and turns its head to look at you dazedly, you can't help yourself. A laugh, pure and unadulterated and…and excited bursts out of you and you begin to wonder if you've lost your mind as well as your heart. The laugh cuts abruptly an you stare at the creation, a cruel albeit empty smirk spreading across you face. The doll wavers to its feet, thin fingers spreading across the wall for support and hair dripping some "experimental goo" as such with lower intelligence often called it. You spread your fingers wide towards the doll and when you open your mouth to speak, another triumphant, maniacal laugh bubbles out.
