Chapter 1
The last week of summer was drawing to a close for Roxas. He and his cousin, Sora, along with their friends Riku and Hayner where sitting in the large and low to the ground elm tree in Sora's back yard each on their own branch. "So Sora," Hayner smirked, "How's Kairi?" Roxas gave a questioning look at his cousin. Earlier that day, before Riku and Hayner had arrived, Sora had Came out of the closet to Roxas, Sora had also told Roxas that he had broken up with Kairi because of this. She had understood and had promised not to tell anyone until Sora had fully come out himself. He had apparently not confided either of these facts in his friends though.
"Oh she's…fine." Sora said rather hesitantly. "Really? 'Cause I heard you guys broke up yesterday." Hayner retorted. At those words Riku who had previously been playing with his phone snapped to attention an unfathomable look on his face.
The look quickly disappeared though when he noticed that Roxas had seen his reaction. "W what? B but I thought!" Sora stammered in reply." So it IS true! I saw that text message you got from her because you didn't close it before you let me use it!" Hayner said. "At first I didn't under stand what she meant but then I figured it out! How could not tell us!" Roxas was surprised! Normally Hayner was of…..average intelligence. But he had his moments. "Pfft! Like you told us about you and Seifer the second it happened. We had to learn it from Fuu and Rai." Roxas Stated. "Well excuse me! I knew you guys didn't like him so we just pretended to hate each other as well so you guy wouldn't get suspicious!" Hayner replied indignantly.
Because the sun was beginning to droop in the soft early autumn sky the boys broke off their conversation and headed for Sora's house. After dinner, the teens said goodbye. Hayner ,who lived close by, began to walk lazily home. Riku was picked up shortly after. Leaving Sora and Roxas alone. "Thanks for defending me earlier." Sora said. "Your welcome it was the least I could do. AND by the way, did you see the way Riku looked at you after Hayner tugged you out of the closet?" Roxas said raising an eyebrow. "What! What's that supposed to mean! What do you know?" Sora said. Then realizing what he had just said blushed furiously and looked away. "Oh! I'm sorry I didn't mean to embarrass you!" Roxas said truthfully. As they talked cloud, Roxas's older brother, pulled up to Sora's house in his car. "Gotta go! Bye!" Roxas yelled as he ran towards the car. "See ya'!" Sora returned. "How did it go?" Cloud asked. "Fine, Sora came out of the closet to us today." Roxas replied nonchalantly. "Finally!" Cloud exclaimed.
The rest of the car ride was dominated by Cloud and Roxas's Idle Chatter. Once home, Roxas surveyed his abode. It was a split level house. When they entered the home they where greeted by a nine stair staircase leading to a. indoor balcony which extended to the back of the house. The level of the house which was dominated by the balcony was made up of Roxas and Cloud's rooms. The balcony overlooked the living room witch consisted of a flat screen T.V. This rested on a small T.V. stand. Before the T.V was a large curved couch. To the back of the rectangular room was a large wrap around bookshelf which extended to the sides, up, and over a wide window. A Plushy chair was placed next to a little table next to the stuffed bookshelf. Roxas went through the room to the arched doorway to the kitchen. He the poured himself a glass of water, drank it, and went to bed.
