Bits and Pieces
[A collection of oneshots based on different USUK/UKUS headcannons]
America and England pass notes and generally bother one another during conferences.
America looked around the room at another boring world meeting he was forced to attend. Everyone had their full attention, more or less, directed towards Switzerland and his presentation of a new solution for countries that were in debt. And, yes, America should probably be paying attention, but it was just so damn hard to focus with England sitting right next to him. ((God, I'm so bored! I'll just bother England~)) He got out a piece of scrap paper and wrote a short message then folded it up.
[Yo, Artie! I wrote you a poem.]
America casually slid the note over to England. England gave him a questioning look. America simply grinned at him, urging him to read it and write something back. England hesitantly opened the paper and read the contents. He uncapped his pen and jotted down a reply.
{Let's hear it then!}
England nonchalantly passed the note back. America smiled as he read response. He excitedly began writing a tiny poem he had thought up during lunch earlier that day.
[Roses are red
Violets are blue
McDonalds is ~delicious~
And so are you!]
America took a moment to admire his "creative genius". ((This is, without a doubt, the greatest poem in the universe)) He returned the note to England, and watched eagerly as he unfolded it. England's cheeks were turning a lovely shade of red. He hastily scratched something down on the paper.
{Don't write embarrassing things like that in public, you git!}
England shoved the note back at America. America gave him an over-exaggerated puppy dog pout at England's response to his amazing poem. He quickly wrote what he needed to say on the scrap paper.
[Hahaha, you're cute when you blush. But was my poem really that embarrassing?]
He slyly passed it under the table to his blushing Brit who, upon reading it, turned a deeper shade of scarlet. America stifled a laugh. Austria shot him a threatening look from across the room, warning him to shut up because Switzerland was still at it. America quickly looked away; kind of embarrassed that he had been scolded. England smirked at him briefly, then scrawled down a retort.
{I'm not blushing! It's just really hot in here.}
He tossed the paper in America's direction and averted eye contact as he pretended to pay attention to Switzerland. America quickly read the reply and chuckled silently. He loved seeing England blush; It was quality entertainment during meetings! America decided to push him a bit further.
[I'm getting kinda hot, too. But only because you're sitting next to me~]
He handed it to England under the table, grinning like an idiot. As England read the message, you could practically feel his face heating up. Before he even had a chance to scribble down a riposte, a break in the meeting was deemed appropriate, seeing how Switzerland had finished. An enthusiastic wave of countries got up to leave, revived by the fact that the meeting was nearly over. England and America were among those countries. They went to their usual hallway, knowing that they wouldn't be bothered by countries just passing by, or their friends for that matter.
England's face had cooled down and was returning to its normal coloring, to America's disappointment. He tried to make him redden again by bringing up his glorious poem again.
"So…you really didn't like my poem?" America asked with feigned sad eyes. England bit his lip, well aware of what America was trying to do but pinkening all the same as he recalled the delightful poem America had dedicated to him.
"It was…cute," England finally admitted, refusing to make eye contact with the giddy country standing across from him. America grabbed his wrists and pulled England closer.
"I meant every word!" he confessed with a dazzling smile. England blushed a bit harder when America pulled him in for a trademark bear hug. They stayed in each other's embrace for quite some time. When they let each other go, they were holding hands.
"You really are an idiot," England pointed out before giving him a quick peck on the cheek and hastily walked off back to the conference room. America chased after him, laughing the whole way back to the conference room.
A/N: Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed my first USUK story. This was really fun to write! And, because this collection of one-shots is based on headcannon (which is pretty much crack to me), feel free to leave your headcannon of the two in a review. I'll see if I can come up with anything for it!
