Cass.

Andrea stared at her baby. Now two months old, Cassandra lay in the cradle. She moved impatiently even in her sleep as her ears did not fit nicely in the small cradle. Andrea had been horrified when she heard that she was going to have a baby. Andrea had even thought about abortion when she had received the news. Abortion was far better than the life Cassandra was going to have. A life of disasters – both natural and supernatural. A life of the regret being given away at birth. A life being hunted down. A life involving the Secret.

'I don't have any other option.' Andrea thought. Her husband, Michael had been already captured by the Midnight Sun. Their family had descended from the jester of King Henry VIII. Hermes, she had been told, was his name, The Jester's name. This had put their whole family into risk. Cass's grandmother had been killed by making her bathe in molten gold. Her grandmother's grandfather, Sir Gilbert had been poisoned. This all continued even up to the Jester who was killed by Lord Pharaoh. Andrea couldn't risk another person's life. And now the Midnight Sun had discovered that killing the Secret Keepers will do them no good. They would torture Cassandra until she would spill out the Secret. "Don't pity the dead. Pity the living. And those who live without love." Michael had told her. Quickly, Andrea opened a closet and took out the mysterious round ball. The Sound Prism. She placed it in a box and later, adjusted Cass into it. She took a piece of paper and wrote: "Baby Cass. 7 lbs. 3 oz. Time of birth 6:35 p.m." And on the box she wrote 'Handle With Care.' Andrea took another piece of paper and wrote:

Mr. Wallace,

I can't reveal who I am because this girl might probably discover who I am. I am her real mother.

This girl is going to be the next Secret Keeper. I can't risk her life from the Midnight Sun. Please deliver this girl to Larry and Wayne. Keep the Sound Prism with you and later ask them to examine it. Please take care.

Andrea placed both notes inside the box and closed the box. She drove over to Mr. Wallace's house and placed the box there. She quickly drove home, in tears. She opened the lock and quickly went inside. Suddenly, the bell rang. A mailman had arrived. Andrea opened the package and saw jar of jam. She paid the mailman and quickly opened the jar. She spread some of it on bread and took a bite. Suddenly all went blur. A vision of the mailman appeared before her who reached out and pulled a handkerchief with his gloved hand and placed it on Andrea's mouth. Then, darkness.
