Hi, I'm 5redroses and this is my first story. It's a one shot between Harry and Ginny set in the summer holidays after the sixth book. The situation between them is the same as JK Rowling wrote it, which is that they aren't going out anymore and that neither of them is happy about it. Harry is staying at the Burrow for Bill and Fleur's wedding and for whatever reason Ron is not sharing his room. Oh, I know: he accidentally ate some of Fred and George's sweets and although recovered is staying in his parents room so that his mum can keep an eye on him. I'll leave imagining what the sweet did to him to you, peeps… : )
Please give me feedback, positive is nice but if it has to be criticism, can it please be constructive?

Sweet Dreams
Harry squinted against the bright light that had suddenly filled his room and fumbled for his glasses. He put them on and blinked as everything came into focus; in the open doorway stood Ginny, illuminated by the candle that she held in her hands, the light shining softly on her long, straight hair.
She came closer and Harry could see now that her eyes were glistening with tears. He was just wondering what to say when she spoke.
"I dreamt about him Harry. I was in the Chamber of Secrets again and everything was just the same but this time…" here she paused, he could see her trembling,
"This time you didn't come."
"Oh Ginny, come here" He sighed as he held his arms out to her, he knew he shouldn't be doing this; that it would only make leaving the Burrow harder, but just for this one night she needed him. And he was going to be there for her.
Harry had always found crying girls difficult, but this time he knew what to do. He held her, rocking her against his chest and stroking her hair until her sobs subsided and she was still, only her ragged breathing and red eyes showing what had just happened. Still holding her, he sat down on the bed and pulled her gently onto his lap.
He sat like that until he thought she had fallen asleep, when he scooped her up, intending to take her to bedroom and put her back to bed.
"Harry?" He started, he hadn't realised that she was awake.
"Yeah?"
"Can I stay with you tonight. Please?" He blinked, wondering about the sudden change of direction in her thoughts, before realising that that was probably the last thing on her mind right now.
"Sure." He got back into bed, holding the duvet up so that she could clamber in. As he was beginning to feel drowsy, Ginny spoke again.
"If you could go back, if you could change things, would you still do it? Would you still come?" She said this almost in a whisper, as if she was pondering the answer to the question herself.
"Of course I would Gin, I'll always come for you." He received no answer, and thinking that she was asleep, murmured,
"I love you." With that he fell asleep, completely unaware that next to him, a young girl was smiling into the dark.
