"When you can't walk, you crawl, and when you can't crawl, when you can't do that, you find someone to carry you."

It was around midnight when she finally arrived at their loft.

Her foot still hurt like hell and she couldn't wait to finally kick off her heels. She also couldn't wait to finally see Castle again. It had only been a day, but the case had been tiring and her accident had left her feeling off all day.

She didn't say anything to Espo or Ryan, it wasn't that bad but she was still glad that she was heading home now.

She found the living room dark when she arrived, but noticed the light seeping through from the study.

After she put away her gun and keys she headed towards where she knew, her fiancé was at the moment.

She found him asleep on his keyboard. The lettering "You should be writing" blinking on the screen.

A happy smile appeared on her face as soon as she saw him, he looked so utterly adorable, lying there on his desk. His hair messy because he always ruffled through it when he was really caught up in his writing.

She made her way to him and placed her hand gently on his shoulder, waking him just a little bit to get him to bed with her.

He woke up slowly, eyes still full of sleep and a little confused. "Kate, you're home" he said, voice still slurred with sleep.

She smiled and nodded a bit. "Yeah, I just got here, come on let's get you to bed"

She helped him up but when she wanted to turn, the sharp pain shot through her leg again and it gave out underneath her.

Luckily Castle's mind had caught up enough to catch her before falling.

"Whoow, Kate, what happened to your leg?" He asked concerned.

"It's nothing really, I just didn't watch where I was stepping while chasing after a suspect and kind of twisted my ankle because I fell down some stairs, it's nothing really."

He stared at her incredulously.

"Okay let's get you some ice, because this is most definitely not nothing."

He sat her down on the couch and went to the kitchen to get some ice to put on her ankle. She had gotten comfortable by the time he was back in the living room, she had put her legs up and stuffed a pillow behind her back and was smiling at him as he walked towards her with a bag of frozen peas.

He gently lifted her legs from the couch and draped them in his lap. He then carefully started to get rid of her socks only to reveal a view that left him in shock.

It had gone completely blue and was swollen to twice its usual size.

"It's not that bad" Kate slurred, tiredly and about to pass out from exhaust.

He didn't say anything to that and just put the bag of peas carefully on her ankle. She flinched a little bit at the sudden cold, but relaxed again soon, when Castle started stroking her leg tenderly. She gave him a small loving smile and whispered:

"Thank you Castle" He smiled back at her.

"Always, you know that" he replied silently. She smiled again and fell asleep right there. He looked at her in awe, his badass, though as nails girlfriend, asleep with her feet in his lap, having him take care of her so naturally. He was so in awe of her and would never understand how he got so lucky. He stayed like that for a long while, content to be just watching her sleep with a smile on her face. She'd say he was creepy but he couldn't care less. When the peas grew warm he put them down on the table next to the couch, lifted her feet of his lap and went to pick her up gently. She automatically slung her arms around his neck and cuddled deeper in his embrace.

He kissed her temple tenderly and carried her to the bed, where he set her down and carefully tucked her in. Then he went to lay down behind her, she turned into him immediately and snuggled into his waiting embrace again.

He tucked away a stray strand of hair, kissed her temple and fell asleep as well.

He didn't hear her silent whisper. "I love you Castle".

For Sandy, because she's the cutest person on this planet and she deserves some fluff:D

Love you Sandy!3
