I had science test today and I had about 45 minutes of daydreaming time and this came into my head. I wrote this down in like 15 minutes or so. I hope you like this one-shot.

I don't own anyone or thing, but the plot.

Aragorn son of Arathorn, also known as King Elessar of Gondor, Estel Elrondion of Rivendell, or Strider of the Rangers, sat at his desk in his royal chambers, remembering. He was remembering when he had first met the Hobbits.

Frodo Baggins. The ringbearer. Though he was small he had a brave heart and was kind.

Samwise Gamgee. Frodo's loyal friend and gardener. Aragorn knew it would be hard to get them to leave each other.

Peregrin Took and Meriadoc Brandybuck. Their Elladan and Elrohir in Hobbit form. Even some of him and Legolas in them.

He had been looking at the newcomers that had entered The Prancing Pony.

They were Halflings.

'Hobbits, son of Arathorn. They are called Hobbits,' Gandalf the Grey had told him before he had started waiting.

They must have been the Hobbits he was waiting for. There was more than two, though. Gandalf had said there was only two. Once, though, Frodo Baggins had accidentally put on the one ring, he knew that they were the ones he was waiting for. He took Frodo to his guest room, hoping to explain everything to him, before the Wraiths appeared. Frodo's friends, Samwise Gamgee, Peregrin Took, and Meriadoc Brandybuck soon joined them.

They moved to another inn before the Ringwraiths came the next morning they left for Rivendell. His home. The home of his foster father, Lord Elrond.

All had gone wrong at Weathertop. While he was scouting ahead, the Wraiths had caught up to them. He had made it back and got the Wraiths to leave, but Frodo had been stabbed.

They made no haste to get to Rivendell then. They had to get the ring to Elrond. On the way there he ran into Arwen Elrondion.

Arwen …

His one and only true love.

She took Frodo to her father's while he took the other three to the same place, at the slower pace. But the whole time he wondered if they had made it. Even when they had run into his old friend, a Elven-Prince, Legolas Thranduilion, son of King Thranduil of Mirkwood, he wondered if they had made it safely or had they failed and the ring was lost – or worse taken by the Ringwraiths.

Only once Elrond had told him that they had safely made it and that Frodo and the ring were there and alive did Aragorn feel fine and normal for now.

At the council, when Boromir son of Denethor and Gandalf argued and Legolas and a dwarf, Gimli son of Gloin argued Frodo had said he would take the ring.

That had shocked Aragorn, but he hide it well.

'If by my life or death I can protect you, I will. You have my sword,' Aragorn had vowed.

Now he, Gandalf, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Boromir, Gimli and Legolas were going to Mordor to destroy the one ring and hopefully Saruon along with it.

He had hope.

Estel …

I really liked this story and I'm thinking of writing more about how Aragorn feels about the rest of the Fellowship and how the Fellowship feels about each other.

Please read and review.
