Isn't the Sunset Beautiful?

Everyone thought that they would never make it as a couple. She was so nice and caring never really seeming to care for herself. He was cold and collected never seeming to allow others to know that he had feelings. She healed people and always tried to avoid killing. He was often given the assassination missions and never seemed to mind. No one thought they could fit together, but they never knew the real them.

They had first met, over five years ago when she was found wondering in the forest knowing nothing of how she had gotten there or where she was. All that she could remember was her name. The people of the Hidden Leaf took her in, and it was only after a building accident where she healed a young boy that they discovered her unique gifts.

He had watched her from afar and come to care about her as he saw her act around other people. It was only after following her for a few days that he fell in love with her. She had left the village and found a clearing, where she practiced many different fighting forms that he had never seen before.

She felt his presence and asked him to come out, he had. They had practiced together. Then talked for a while about everything, she listened to all of his problems and offered advice when needed. They laughed over jokes and spent every spare minute together. They married after four years of knowing each other, they didn't know if they wanted to have kids yet. She didn't push like many woman would have, and he didn't demand her to prepare every meal and clean the entire house like many men would have. They were happy, for a while.

He soon became cold around her. She just ignored him and continued on with her life. They stopped talking and laughing, they didn't spend as much time with each other. She was hurt; her heart felt like it was breaking. He was confused he didn't know why de was starting to push away.

One day he walked into the bedroom and his heart almost stopped. She was looking out the window, her body bathed in the sunlight. He started walking over to her and looked out the window as well.

"Isn't the sunset beautiful?" She asked as she turned to gaze into his eyes.

"Yes, it is." He answered as he gave her a light kiss. It was full of love and apology. She knew he loved her and she easily forgave him. That night was one of many that ended with them curled up in each others arms. They never fought for very long and they always seemed happy and content with each other. One thing that was said no matter the mood of each person always remained the same.

In the night when they drifted off to sleep their voice was always heard by the other, no matter the distance:

"I love you, Neji." Her soft words could be heard by him.

"I love you as well, Kagome." Could always reach her hears.

No one thought they could make it as a couple, well every one was wrong.
