Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail

Levy sat in the empty Fairy Tail hall, glad it was deserted so no one would see her crying. As her tears hit the table she tried to hold in her whimpers, not wanting to break the silence. Suddenly someone grabbed her around the waist, lifting her into the air and holding her tight. She recognized instantly the cold piercings that traversed the Iron Dragon's body. He held her tightly, allowing her to cry onto his chest as she buried her face into his shirt. When she finally stopped crying, she leaned back and looked up at him. "What are you doing here?" She asked blushing when she realized she had been pulled tightly against him so that she was being cradled in his arms.

"I was looking for you. Why are you crying?" He asked as his eyes flashed a threatening shade of red.

"I'm a wimpy wizard. Reading and translating things isn't a very good way to support Fairy Tail." She said looking away from him and around at the dark rows of empty seats.

"I'll make you strong." He vowed.

"I just want to support Fairy Tail the way they've supported me." She said. He hummed for a moment before trotting off, carrying her home.

The next morning Levy and Gajeel walked into Fairy Tail, all the members were lounging in the hall. Natsu and Gray were fighting. Lucy had taken Loke's sunglasses and was sporting them laughing while he blushed and crossed his arms. She seemed happy on his lap so Levy sat nearby and Gajeel grabbed Natsu and Gray and threw them down at the closest seats. "Shut up." Gajeel snarled, bearing his fanged teeth threateningly.

"What the hell?" Natsu growled.

"I'm reading a story." Levy said smiling as the rest of Fairy Tail sat around and listened to Levy read to them. "The End." She finished.

"Can we make this a weekly thing?" Lucy asked.

"Sure." Levy laughed looking over at Gajeel who smiled. The Iron Dragon and bookworm moved away from the mass of people who had congregated to hear Levy read.

"Now you're paying it back bookworm." He said as they sat down with her. Mira Jane gave them each a plate of food, Gajeel iron nails and Levy a salad.

"That was amazing Levy." Laxus said with a toothy grin. Gajeel snarled loudly as a hush fell over the hall. All eyes turned to Gajeel as he put a heavy arm around Levy's shoulders.

"Back off." Gajeel snarled. Laxus laughed and walked away casually as if nothing happened. The normal chatter started back up and Levy looked at Gajeel who was eating a little too grumpily.

"Gajeel what-"

"Look, I know I hurt you and I don't expect you to forgive me, I know I'll never forgive myself, but I will never let anyone hurt you. Especially not that idiot." Gajeel grumbled.

"Gajeel-"

"I'll spend my life making up for it." He said.

"You idiot." She laughed kissing his cheek softly. He froze as a blush slowly spread across his cheeks.

"You two love birds want something else to eat?" Mira Jane asked as she took their empty plates.

"Ice cream?" Levy asked smiling.

"Coming right up!" Mira Jane said before delivering them each an ice cream cone. Levy slipped one hand into Gajeel's while she began eating her ice cream happily, pulling Gajeel out onto the street. He too was enjoying his ice cream until her scoop fell off its cone. He sighed but before he could offer her his, she had seen a butterfly and wandered off after it. He looked around just in time to spot her orange dress as it fluttered past a building. He chased after her only to find her, bright smile lighting her features as she held out her hands.

"What?" He asked.

"I caught a butterfly." She said. He sighed and kissed her forehead.

"You're going to be the death of me." He laughed softly as she let it go. They watched it flutter off into the sky.
