Backstage, the cartoon stars were making last minute preps for the 2004 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. The audience was packed with kids and celebs, millions of people were watching at home, and they had enough slime to last the whole show. Now, it was time to get ready for the huge night where kids rule. In the Nickelodeon cartoon VIP room, Disney Channel cartoon star, Kim Possible was going through the opening sketch one more time with her fellow cheer squad from Middleton. Kim flew them out here and gave them passes to the show, and promised they get to perform with her. Kim also had her family in the audience.
"Alright!" Kim said. "Great work team! I think we're ready!" Originally, the opening sketch was supposed to be about hockey, but Kim made a few changes to it last week. The producers liked it and gave it a go.
"This is so cool Kim! I can't believe you got us here!" Tara said.
"No big Tara. Anyway, we'll be up right after OutKast performs Hey Ya and the announcer explains the line up." Kim replied. As soon as Tara and most of the suad left the room, Kim's rival Bonnie approached Kim with a smile on her face.
"Kim, normally I wouldn't say this, given our differences, but I just wanted to wish you good luck tonight." Bonnie said kindly.
Kim was taken aback by this. Was Bonnie being nice to her? "Uh," Kim said. "Thanks Bonnie." She offered her best smile to the brunette.
Bonnie then left the VIP room, now wearing a big nasty grin on her face. "Because you're about to face Slime Humiliation Nation." Bonnie giggled to herself as she walked down the hallway.
Kim then changed out of her cheer outfit and put on her green ninja suit. She and her fellow cartoon co-hosts would be performing with OutKast during the opening. This was Kim's second Kids' Choice Awards. She was beaming a huge smile because not only was she nominated for Favorite Cartoon again, she was also going to be presented with the Wannabe Award. Kim was chosen as the perfect role model, a person kids most want to be. She was so proud of herself. In addition, she was going to perform an orginal song alongside Arvil Lavigne. Then, there was a knock on the door. "Come in!"
The door was then kicked opened by Kim's best friend, Ron Stoppable, doing some amateur Kung Fu tricks. Kim smiled at her goofy best friend. "Hey KP! Ready to get our game on?" Ron asked playfully. Ron was a huge fan of the Kids' Choice Awards.
Rufus then appeared and did some kund fu moves of his own. "Hi-yah!" He squeaked.
"You know it!" Kim replied before pausing. "Ron, I just want to thank you for nominating me for the Wannabe Award. I can't tell you how happy this makes me feel right now."
"Well, a lot of people wanna be like you Kim. Including your best friend." Ron said. Kim hugged her best friend. "Just don't forget about the other award you promised to compete for."
Kim knew what Ron was talking about. The Burp Award. The Kids' Choice Award for the best burp around. Normally, Kim wouldn't want to partake in anything like that. But, Kim decided to try out for it. Even if it meant being humiliated by Bonnie. She didn't care. As long as Ron was happy. And, it might give her some street cred with her annoying twin brothers. "I remember Ron. And I'm so ready for it."
"You better be! We got to take down the competition! After what JT did last year, it's game on!" Ron said, talking about Justin Timberlake's win last year.
"Not to worry big boy. I've been eating the right stuff, chugging down sodas, and now I'm ready to become the firs Queen of Burping!" Kim said playfully. Ron and Rufus smiled. "Come on. Let's go find the others." They then headed out to find their fellow cartoon co-hosts.
Girl and alien duo, Lilo and Stitch were in their dressing room, chugging down sodas. It was their first time at the Kids' Choice Awards, and they were also nominated for Favorite Cartoon. They were excited to be there, because it was the one place where there were no rules. They could be messy and loud as they wanted without their older sister Nani yelling over them. Lilo then let out a big burp. "How was that?" She asked. It was clear they were preparing for the burp contest.
"Excellent." Stitch replied. "But..." Stitch then let out a huge burp that almost knocked Lilo off her feet. Jade, who was admiring her burp award and tiara, noticed.
"Whoa. I think we have a winner." Jade said, clearly impressed. In 2001, she was the first Kids' Choice Celebrity Burp winner and was named the Princess of Burping. Now, she would have to pass on her award to a new, worthy celebrity burpist. Jade just loved rubbing elbows with the celebs.
"We're ready then." Lilo said. "I'm really excited to be here, Jade. And so is Stitch. You got any last minute advice?"
Jade smiled. "Just have fun with it. There's absolutely no rules." She said.
"That we know how to do." Lilo said. "Right Stitch?"
"Eh! Fun! Slime!" Stitch replied. Just then, Kim and Ron entered the dressing room.
"Oh, hey Kim! Hey Ron!" Lilo said.
"Hey Lilo. Jade. You guys ready?" Kim asked.
"Tsch! We're so ready!" Jade said.
"Ega Craba! Let's go." Stitch said. With that, the four kids and blue alien went out to find their other co-hosts.
Nickelodeon superstars, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star were in their dressing room, getting ready for tonight. They were clearly excited. This was their second Kids' Choice Awards. Just last year, they won for Favorite Cartoon and Favorite Video Game. They were in their green ninja suits, practicing some karate moves. (Or as SpongeBob says Ka Ra Tae.) He finished their training session by flipping Patrick onto his back. "OK. Now that that's out of the way," SpongeBob said. "we're clearly ready! I've been looking forward to this night all week!"
Patrick helped himself off the ground. "Party!" He simply said.
"What do you think we're going to do first?" SpongeBob asked excitedly.
"What aren't we going to do first?! We rule this night! We're young, we got the power, the world is our oyster!" Patrick said. Just then, Jade, Lilo, Stitch, Kim, and Ron entered the room.
"Hey SpongeBob!" Kim said.
"Hey guys!" SpongeBob said happily. "Are you all ready for the big night tonight?!"
"Boo-Yah! It's gonna rock!" Ron yelled. Kim, Jade, and Lilo smiled. They knew SpongeBob was weird, but they sure loved him. It was sure to be a fun night indeed.
"Are you all ready to go crazy?!" SpongeBob yelled.
"I'm already hearing the voices!" Patrick simply yelled.
"Are you-" SpongeBob started to yell before a clearly annoyed voice from the other dressing room bellowed out.
"SPONGEBOB! PATRICK! DO YOU MIND?!" Squidward yelled.
"Whoa. Sounds like Squidward's not in the party mood tonight." Lilo said playfully.
"You got that right." Jade agreed.
"Then let's just go find Danny and Timmy, Patrick! I think we got a party pooper in the next room!" SpongeBob said loudly.
"Well how rude!" Patrick yelled, with Stitch nodding in agreement. With that, the cartoon characters left the room.
In their dressing room, Timmy Turner, Cosmo and Wanda, and Nickelodeon Newbie, Danny Fenton were preparing by just talking. It was both Danny and Timmy's first Kids' Choice Awards and they were excited. Timmy and his god parents were also nominated for Favorite Cartoon. Danny's new show was going to premiere right after the Kids' Choice Awards. Timmy was chugging a bunch of sodas, clearly preparing for the Burp Award. He then let out a huge burp. "How's that?" Timmy asked Danny.
"Wow. That's way better than JT's." Danny said, impressed. "Where did you get those fizzy sodas?"
Timmy had a lot of Orange Sodas all over the dressing room. "Cosmo poofed them up for me." Timmy said, pointing to his green haired fairy god parent.
"Just a curiosity, where does all the fizz from the soda come from?" Wanda, the pink haired fairy god parent, asked.
"Where it usually does...the winners of the fart award!" Cosmo said, stupidly. Wanda wasn't buying it.
Danny then checked his watched. "Man! We got six minutes before the show starts!"
"Not to worry Danny. I wish we were in our costumes." Timmy ordered. Cosmo and Wanda then waved their wands and suddenly, he and Danny were in their green ninja suits. "See? Told you not to worry."
"Wow. I'll never understand how you did that." Danny said, with a smile.
"And I'll never tell you." Timmy replied. Just then, their cartoon co-hosts entered the room.
"Hey! You guys ready?!" SpongeBob yelled out.
"You know it!" Timmy replied. With that, they joined their co-hosts and walked to the stage.
"Hold on guys. I need to check in one more time with Wade." Kim said. She pulled out her Kimmunicator. "Hey Wade. Status update?" She remembered last year when her arch foe, Dr. Drakken tried to ruin the show by stealing the slime. Luckily, she was able to defeat him. Now, she had to make sure that any bad guys arent' causing any trouble.
"Everything's A OK! You guys are totally good for tonight." Wade replied.
Kim smiled. She wouldn't have to deal with any villains tonight. She can just have fun. "You rock Wade!" Kim said before hanging up. "Alright guys! We're all good! So, are we ready?!"
"Yeah!" Timmy, Lilo, Jade, Patrick and Danny yelled out.
"Boo-Yah!" SpongeBob, Ron and Rufus yelled out.
"Then let's get this party started!" Kim said. With that, the cartoon co-hosts made their way to their spots, waiting for their cue. After a year of not so patiently waiting, it was time for music, fun, burping, farting, and slime. It was time for the Kids' Choice Awards.
