The previous night had just brought the very first snowfall to New York and to Camp Half-Blood. They had about four inches, a rather large snow storm for the first one of the year, it had even determinedly stuck to the ground. Annabeth pushed her blonde ponytail backwards over her shoulder as she walked down the path that led through the main cabins. Her Yankees cap was tucked into the pocket of her large coat, she felt rather like a marshmallow, but she was warm. She could handle waddling like a duck through the camp if it meant she didn't have to deal with the chill winter air. There was a rather violent curse in Greek that made her turn, looking for the source. It had sounded like Percy and sure enough there he was next to his own cabin.

He wasn't wearing a coat, only a light jacket and he had three fingers on his right hand inside his mouth. Confused Annabeth trotted back from where she had come to where Percy was on a ladder. She looked up at him, admiring the redness his nose and cheeks had adopted from the biting cold. The silver streak of hair in his normally black hair caught her attention today. She had a matching streak in her own blonde hair, but on him it really seemed to go along with the current holiday.

Percy hadn't noticed her there. He removed his fingers slowly from his mouth before going back to whatever he was working on. A plastic clip fell from his pocket and clipped Annabeth on the shoulder as it fell to the ground. He swore again, looking down to find his girlfriend watching him with a quirked eyebrow.

"Hey Annabeth," he greeted slowly, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a new white clip.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm decorating for Christmas."

"I never knew Christmas decorations required so much swearing." Annabeth teased, picking up the fallen clip and pushing it back into his pocket.

"They do when none of the stuff wants to cooperate," his breath chilled in a large white cloud after having left his mouth.

"Do you want help or should I leave you to it?" She asked looking around at the mess of items on the ground.

"I should have it covered, come back when its starts getting dark though." He was eager, looking down at her in excitement. Annabeth nodded turning back around and waddling her way to her original destination.

To her word Annabeth did return as the evening started to settle on the camp. Percy's ladder was gone and the door to his cabin was shut tight. She lifted a gloved hand and quietly knocked on the door and he opened it rather quickly. He was stuffing his feet into snow boots and Annabeth watched him nearly lose his balance with a laugh. Percy smiled, then just before he stepped out to join her he flipped a switch on the wall and the outside of the cabin lit up.

"Oh," Annabeth breathed quietly turning away from her boyfriend.

"That's what I was working on," Percy took her hand in his, gently pulling away her glove.

"It's all blue," her laughter was obvious. Her boyfriend smiled.

"I can't resist the color."

"Maybe I should dye my hair blue then."

"You're already addicting enough." His lips captured hers and she squeaked in surprise. Then she melted against him, feeling warmer than she had ever felt in winter before. "Maybe tomorrow I can hang some from the Athena cabin?"

"As long as they aren't blue," Annabeth breathed pulling herself up to him for another kiss.
