A/N: Season 5 Au that has been plaguing my mind for quite a time. I think if the System Lord differs from other Lords it doesn't mean he is the cruelest and most awful one. There should be at least one more or less good (or not evil) goa'uld in the universe.

Disclaimer: If I've owned them… you know what you would see in season 5, 6 etc...

He, who destroyed the Order.

Part one: Resonance.

Resonance is the tendency of a mechanical system to

absorb more energy when the frequency of its oscillations

matches the system's natural frequency of vibration.

Resonance may cause violent swaying motions in

improperly constructed bridges. Bridge can even be

destroyed by its resonance

Prologue.

"Soon… Soon the time will come, the time we have been waiting for so long."

"Did I mention how much stating the obvious does annoy me? Instead of wasting our time with empty pompous speeches you could've think about situation we are in now!"

"Shh, young one… there is no need in being so loud. You are perfectly aware of the fact that no precautions can be taken is such situation or have you discovered the new factor which would turn the whole theory of predetermined time travel upside down, young one?" (Little chuckle.)

"You know that I haven't found anything remotely useful! And don't call me that name again. Now I'm old enough to deserve some respect!"

"Try to be not so tense and grim. Whatever the result is, we still will be alive and capable of continuing our fight. And as for name-calling… you are younger than me and always will be, besides your behavior sometimes is so ridiculously immature that I can hardly prevent myself from calling you little one…"

Man allowed himself a slight smile in the corners of his mouth and stand in all his height as letting off some burden which troubled him greatly. He made a few steps to the window in the bridge room and looked at the struggling swirl of colours which always marked the use of higher than light speed. His face illuminated with this alien light seemed so young and tired. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't notice his First Prime staying silently near the entrance.

Mel'toc didn't want to interrupt his Lord's thoughts and his news could wait a little, furthermore, he hasn't seen him so relaxed in a very long time. Lately Mel'toc found himself wishing the existence of some higher, god-like power (and he didn't mean the false gods whose numbers were still rather big) he could pray to for his masters successful outcome of the situation.

"You should probably acknowledge the boy's presence or he'll be staying here for another hour not daring to talk to his lord, afraid to ruin his thinking process…" "What?"

Man turned and glanced around the room, his eyes settling on Mel'toc. "Something happened?"

"Korl-ksha finished repairing the transport device." "Good. Deliver your wife my compliments on her craft skills. I considered Lank Path damaged beyond repair." "She will be glad to hear it."

Mel'toc bowed and left the room leaving his master alone with unhappy thoughts concerning nearest future.

"You are too downcast and blue even for God of Death." "It's not funny." "It isn't, but I don't know how I can cheer you up…" "Not with making lame jokes at least. …Can you wish me luck?" "How will it help?" "It's a human thing… ugh… just could you do it?" "Sure… Good luck, Dan'yel." "Thanks. You know it is weird being wished luck, in sense, by myself. Not that our consciousnesses merged together completely but still…"

The dialog continued for some time but both participants couldn't shove aside the one thought: "It has begun."
