Yuuma was happy.

That was the first time Luka had seen her older brother smile in years.

Ever since his break up with Lily, years and years ago, he hadn't been the same. Luka never knew the reason. Yuuma never gave up on Lily though. Stayed single for all those years, while she jumped from boyfriend to boyfriend, from what Luka heard anyway. Not that Luka hated Lily; they used to be good friends. Used to. She hasn't spoken to Lily personally since the blond came up to her to say goodbye, three months after the break up with her brother. Lily's family was moving across the country.

She could've sworn she heard a heart break. It wasn't her heart either.

Lily had asked to speak in private with Yuuma. Of course, Luka couldn't say no. The ex-couple went into a separate room. Luka sat outside the door. She didn't hear anything, but she sat there anyway. She sat there for an hour, not sure what to be thinking. The two came out, Lily and then Yuuma. She kissed him on his tear-stained cheek and bid goodbye to Luka.

That was when Luka noticed that Lily's cheeks were also wet.

Luka remembered what Yuuma had said after Lily turned away from them.

"I'll love you until I die."

Lily stopped, but she didn't say anything. Then she left, never to make contact within the thirty-year period between then and now.

Luka was 23 then. She is going to turn 53 next week.

Lily was 25. She's turning 55 in a few months.

Yuuma was 26. He was supposed to turn 56 in a few months as well.

Oh, how time flies.

Luka looked at her brother, who finally had peace of mind. When he moved out, she visited him often. Half of those visits, it wasn't hard to see that he was stressed. She wished she could've been there for him more often. Sometimes, his neighbors complained of his noise. He had a breakdown now and then.

Once, she snuck into his room. His room was a mess, except for his nightstand. There was a framed picture of him and Lily, smiling. Happy. Back when they first started dating when they were 18. There was also a laptop there. He wasn't the type to keep passwords, and always forgets to log out, so it wasn't hard for Luka to access his email. His Archive was full of his and Lily's email exchanges. She noticed that every single one of the emails had the words "I love you" in it at least once.

Luka was glad her brother was finally happy. She really was.

Luka was only person left with her brother. She was telling him about this guy she met a few weeks ago, and how she was saddened that he was going to miss her birthday next week.

And then the door opened.

Luka turned to see a blonde woman. She recognized those blue eyes anywhere, but they have lost whatever brightness was left from fifty years ago.

Lily.

She looked at her, then at Yuuma. Her face was stoic as she sat next to Luka, the clicking of her black heels resounding about the room. Then, silence.

Luka stared at Lily in thought. Lily's attention was focused on Yuuma.

They stayed that way for ten minutes before Lily started to shake.

All of her emotions started to overflow.

She cried. She sobbed and hiccupped and screamed. Luka hugged her with one arm, silently supporting her. It was like this for who-knows-how-long until all the tears were shed.

Then they were silent again. Until Luka said quietly,

"We wondered if you would come."

Lily didn't say anything. She only held Luka's hand tightly. She let another tear slide down her face before looking directly at Luka with sad blue eyes.

"…He stopped loving me today."

Based off the song "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones.

I wanted to put a happier one-shot but my current state refuses to do so. Sorry. This was the result of me doing some venting.

I'm sorry I haven't been updating my other stories or doing the rest of the birthdays for the Vocaloids.

So...yeah. I'm not done with this yet. I plan on giving more backstory with Yuuma and Lily.

See you then.
