"Hey Soul, wake up! C'mon it's Saturday!" Soul groaned and rolled himself tighter in his blankets. Ugh
"C'mon Soul. This is the first weekend in a month that we haven't had a mission." She tip toed into his messy room. The poorly lit cave smelled like sweat and dirty laundry. "Ouch-" she stumbled over a stray sneaker. "Maybe you could use this time to clean your room" Maka sneered while rubbing her exposed pink toe nails. She finally made it to his window and drew open the curtains.
"We have cereal. We could have that and watch some cartoons." Maka gave Soul an honest smile and tilted her head to the side. She was still wearing her pajamas and was bare foot. Her pink and green polka dotted shorts fitted loosely in contrast to the tightly fitted yellow tank top.
"Sure Maka." Soul sat up in his bed and rubbed his face with his hand. His chest was bare reminding Maka of the traumatic experience they had almost a year ago in Italy. He let out a loud yawn and stretched in his bed. "I'll be out in a minute."
"Kay" she giggled and stepped out of his room, this time dodging every wandering shirt and shoe in her path.
She poured two bowls of cereal, one with corn flakes and the other with chocolate cereal, and brought them out to the living room's coffee table. Soul stepped out of the bathroom, drying his face with a faded blue wash cloth. He was wearing his typical pajama pants, white with vertical light blue strips. He still refused to wear a shirt complaining that the day was too hot.
"It's been a while since we could just sit around and watch TV like this." He said taking a seat next to Maka and picking up the chocolate cereal bowl.
"Yea, we've been so busy lately with missions we hardly have any time to relax." They both laughed at the Saturday morning cartoon they used to watch together when they first partnered up.
"By the way that cereal looks really plain….and healthy. I bet it taste like nothing." Soul grinned and dipped his milk and chocolate covered spoon into her cereal bowl and scoped out a spoonful which he quickly shoveled into his mouth.
"Eww Soul gross." Maka wrinkled her nose and shook her head. She had her cereal bowl balanced on her knees which were inches from her face. "Now there's chocolate milk in my cereal." She stuck her tongue out and clenched her eyes shut.
"Come off it Maka. Here you can have some off mine." Soul tilted his bowl of cereal towards his meister who sat shoulder to shoulder with him. He laughed at her grossed out expression.
"No Soul. You know I can't stand chocolate cereal." She frowned turning her face away from his bowl. She grunted and continued to eat her cereal focusing her grumpy green eyes at the TV screen.
Soul grinned at his meister's signature frowny face. To him it was just enough to charm him. Just another cute habit of Maka's that he'd watch out for and silently appreciate. He smiled to himself and leaned to his left placing a small kiss on her soft white cheek. She became flustered as he expected. Soul gave a silent laugh to himself and continued eating his cereal staring the TV screen as if he had done nothing.
"That's not funny Soul. I don't see why you're laughing." she said embarrassed by her weapons actions. She watched his fixed stare at the TV and slowly leaned in kissing his tanned cheek. He paused and smiled to himself again never removing his stare at the TV. Maka continued eating her cereal and watching her favorite Saturday morning cartoon with the only boy who could ever get away with stealing a kiss from her.
