Let It Snow
AN: Just a cute little fluff fic. Who can guess what two christmas songs inspired this?

It was snowing out and I mean blizzard like snow. Snow that'll shut down a town. But they knew nothing about it. They were wrapped in each others arms watching the fire and the tv. A Christmas Story was on but they weren't really playing much attention to it. They were just enjoying each others company. They had been apart for so long. He had just come back from a week long lecturing circuit on the other side of the country. She had missed his arms holding her.
The kids were tucked up in bed. The tree was lit up. That and the ire were the only source of light. /he shut off the tv as the movie ended and buried his face in her hair, breathing in her scent. Roses filled his nose.
"I love you," he murmured to her.
"I love you too." She replied. "I missed you. I'm glad you made it home for Christmas."
"I almost didn't. It was snowing in New York. They were canceling flights all over the place."
"Well I'm glad you made it. The kids would have been disappointed."
"What about you?" He asked. "Would you have been disappointed?"
"That question doesn't even deserve an answer." She kissed his arm that was wrapped around her.
"So are you ready for your present?"
"You're my present." She replied.
"Well yeah but I got you something else too."
"Sure." She leaned forward, letting him up. He stood and walked to his coat that was draped over the love seat. He turned seconds later with a box in his hands. He sat down beside her and presented her the velvet box.
She opened it and gasped. Inside lay a white gold pendant necklace. A white gold band wrapped around a large twinkling diamond.
"Wow. It's beautiful." she whispered. "It must have cost a fortune."
"Money means nothing if it makes you smile."
