Let me tell ya'll something. I wrote this poem about three years ago, but I had not once gotten around to posting it, but then I completely forgot about it. I had wrote it while listening to some wonderful Egyptian music on YouTube written by Derek Fiechter, who does some AMAZING music by the way. His music was what inspired me to write this poem. But now that it is here, you all can finally read and enjoy it. Have a good day. ;)

As the sands continued to twirl in the

wind, I stood there gazing at the desert

that surrounded me. I looked up into the,

many stars in the night sky above me

and saw that many of them had taken

shape and formed many spectacles.

For behold, I saw the many images

and visions of Ancient Egypt herself.

I saw the great pyramids looming,

high with their stone slabs and

magnificent architecture. I saw

the great ancient temples that,

contained many things of enchantment.

I saw hieroglyphics, the old and fantastic

Egyptian runes that displayed such art,

and beauty. I saw the stone statues of

the great gods of which the Egyptians

praised so long ago in the days of old;

I saw the great Amun-Ra, the creator-god

and patron deity of the city of Thebes.

I saw Akur, the old god of the earth,

and of the far horizon that which all eyes

gaze upon. I saw the mighty Osiris, death

and resurrection who rules the underworld,

and enlivens vegetation, the sun god, and

deceased souls. I saw the terrifying Anubis,

protector of those who now walk through death.

I saw the great falcon-headed Horus, the deity

of the many Pharaohs. I saw the horrible Set,

the feared chaos-god who spreads his own,

malevolence to those who stand in his way.

I saw the beautiful Isis, guardian of children

and deity of wisdom. I saw the wise Thoth,

the great god of the knowledge that which

man strived for. I saw lovely Hathor, deity

of love and motherhood. I saw the dreaded,

snake Apep, the god that was also of chaos.

And last, I saw the crocodile-headed Sobek,

god of the Great Nile and the very beasts that,

which its appearance was based on.

And then, the stars returned to their

original form and here I was, back in,

the desert that which I found myself.

I woke up in the middle of the night,

and began to think about the dream,

that came to me earlier. A smile crept,

across my face, for I knew that it

truly was an enchanting and most

beautiful dream that I had ever seen.

And so, I lay my head down on,

the pillow and close my eyes,

hoping and dreaming for more.
