Author's Note: Hi! This is my very first Zelda fanfic. I'm looking forward to writing this story – I have a lot of ideas.
The story will take place solely in Zelda's point of view, spanning over twenty years, written entirely in diary entries. This first chapter is rather short, but upcoming chapters will grow to be a maximum of around 8,000 words, I'd say.
I can't wait to get the ball rolling, and I hope you're just as excited as I am!
23rd of November
He came to me today. The boy from my dreams is real, and he told me exactly what I feared: Ganondorf would soon conquer Hyrule and reign as the Evil King.
The strange thing, though, wasn't when he said he came from the future – I can tell his eyes are honest – it was his name.
Link... his name is Link.
For some odd reason, that name reminds me of something, though I cannot place what or why. Every time I looked at him today, I was overcome with a feeling of sadness. It makes no sense for me to be sad, as my thoughts about Ganondorf were correct, but still I felt an overwhelming urge to hug a boy I just met and cry to him.
His blue eyes were so familiar, I felt a strange feeling in my tummy all day. I think Impa noticed something was bothering me but she never asked Link to leave the courtyard, which I was afraid she would do. No, instead, she regarded him with curiosity, and even familiarity, I think. When Impa was walking him out of the castle, I saw them talking for a minute, but she wouldn't tell me what was said when I asked.
In any case, Link and I decided that we'd tell my father about Ganondorf's plans tomorrow. Father has to believe him... Link bears the Triforce of Courage, so he'd be a fool to distrust the stories that Link tells. After all, Courage chooses its bearer, unlike Wisdom which is passed down the royal bloodline.
"You have no reason to fear," Impa told me. "Your father is a kind, patient, understanding man. He knows the significance of the Triforce. He will listen to Link with an open mind."
I can't help but worry, though. I haven't been able to stop thinking about Link since he left. Something about his eyes... Call me crazy, but I would swear I've seen them before.
Maybe I am going crazy. Father always said I have an overactive imagination.

P.S. Did I mention that Link has an eyepatch? It makes him look like a pirate!
