What was taking so long? Nowaki had left for his Doctor's appointment over three hours ago, what could possibly have taken that long. He had tried calling the intern's cell phone multiple times but it appeared to be cut off. That left the assistant Professor to worry even more. What if they were taking him into surgery or worse what if he had passed out on the way to the hospital!
Hiroki had one arm in his jacket when the man in question appeared at their front door, holding tons of groceries a watered down smile on his face. That damn Nowaki, leave it to his lover to have a fever and still worry enough about the coming snow storm to do extra shopping, a depressed Hiroki silently took most of the bags from his sniffling love and shuffled towards their kitchen, he was defiantly going to have a serious talk with Nowaki about his priorities.
Hiroki was placing one of the bottles of soda in the fridge when he felt familiar fingers tangle themselves into his hair, he went to knock Nowaki's hand away when he caught a glance of the taller man's face. He was flushed and he seemed to be fighting to smile and keep his eyes open at the same time.
"Would Hiro-san mind if I took a short nap, I am not feeling very well" Nowaki tried to smile but was taken over by forceful coughs that seemed to shake him to his very core. He was too sick to comment when he was stripped off his outer clothing and pushed to the bedroom being forced to lie down.
Hiroki's pride was long forgotten as he scrambled to forge together some type of soup for Nowaki, the intern was sick and to say that Hiroki was in a panic was a big understatement. He didn't get a chance to even find out what was wrong with his beloved; Nowaki had passed out no sooner than his head hit the pillow.
Hiroki placed the bowl of chicken broth and a glass of water on the nightstand careful not to wake the sleeping man, it wasn't much but the Assistant Professor hoped that it would at least help his own personal typhoon get better. He couldn't even bring himself to lie, to state that he wasn't worried because he was. Nowaki had never gotten this ill and all Hiroki could think of, as he hugged his knees to his chest while listening to the labored breathing his love was giving off, was what if Nowaki died. What if Nowaki left him for good?
Nowaki shifted slowly as not to upset his throbbing head, he had been warned to take some cold medicine before he slept but he had been so tired and Hiro-san. . . Hiro-san! Nowaki bolted upright and went to climb out of the bed when he saw his sleeping lover just at his feet, he took in the bowl of soup beside him and he couldn't help but smile. Hiro-san so rarely showed his emotions and he was just sorry he had been too sick to notice, swiftly he lifted his lover onto the bed smiling when his Hiro-san pulled him closer all the while remaining his another realm. Nowaki couldn't help but smile as he laid back down, slowly drifting off to sleep. Medicine and soup could wait for now, he had Hiro-san and that could cure just about anything.
