Maya and Riley are the best friends in the whole world. They are sisters to each other and daughters to me. But my students underestimate me. A lot. I may be a goof sometimes but I am their teacher. Experienced more. Know more.
I have had a love story myself. An usual one but a beautiful one. So I know when somebody loves somebody.
.. and I know them; more than they know themselves. I observe each and every detail even if I let them blabber in here sometimes. I notice their reactions to my lessons but also those to each other's talks.
.. and most importantly, I see.
I see everything.
I see how the petite blonde turns back and teases the handsome guy behind her when I pretend to not look.
I see how they don't mind each other's banter.
I see how the bickering slowly turns into lowkey flirting.
I see how she doesn't spare any opportunity to come close to his face.
I see how he doesn't move and holds her gaze when she does so.
I see how in his essays , subtle references of her can be pointed out.
I see how he helps her with the homework because I also see the corrections in his handwriting.
I see how her grades are improving and her smile is widening.
I see how she brings her sketchbook to class and immediately tosses it to the seat behind.
I see how a proud smile adorns his face when he flips through the pages.
I see how they pass notes in class.
I see how they smile, giggle and sometimes blush reading them.
I see how he brings her hot chocolate and muffins.. but doesn't tell Riley about it.
I see how he eyes Farkle when he flirts with her.
I see how when in detention he chose Mayaville without any chance of hesitation, he didn't even think about it because he didn't have to.
I see how when they are paired up for projects, it brings out the best in both of them. He takes risks and she does the right thing.
I see how they care for each other and are the first ones to defend the other one when anything happens.
I see how, when he is constantly staring at her blonde hair during the class... the whole time; he smiles, genuinely.
I see how he likes Josh but not with her because I see the change in expression.
I see how Riley looks at them, now not so oblivious of all this.
I see how Riley likes him. so much.
I see how he tells her he likes her too but doesn't exactly stick to his words when he is with her because at that time, others don't matter.
I see how this will lead to problem in the future but I also see their friendship strengthening in the process.
I see how I'll have to protect both their fragile hearts from breaking.
I see how Katy smiles at them knowingly
.. and I see myself doing that too.
A/n : HAPPY FATHER'S DAY Y'ALL (I know I'm late but what the heck) I literally wrote this in like 5-7 mins and I'm not sure how I feel about this but love y'all and my story has been updated with chapter 4. Review, coz that makes me and Riley, smiley.
