Emily looked around Dave's house and sighed. It wasn't that she had anything against Valentine's Day it was the fact that she didn't have someone to share the day with. She knew that she should be enjoying the Valentine's party but she couldn't bring herself to.
She looked up when she saw something being held out towards her. Her jaw dropped open in shock when she saw Aaron standing in front of her with a dozen roses in his hands. Her heart started thumping hard in her chest when she saw the look in his eyes.
"These are for you Emily. Happy Valentine's Day Sweetheart." Aaron whispered.
Emily blushed at the endearment even as she took the vase out of Aaron's hands. "You didn't have to get me anything Aaron but thank you."
Aaron smiled. "Yes, I did Emily. I have been trying to think of a way to tell you how I feel for a really long time now. I love you Emily Prentiss. Will you be my Valentine?"
Emily blushed again even as she smiled. "I would love to be your Valentine Aaron. I love you too Aaron Hotchner. You just made me the happiest woman alive."
Aaron couldn't keep the grin off of his face. He took the vase of roses out of Emily's hands and put them on the table. He then reached into his coat and pulled out a heart shaped box of chocolates and handed them to Emily and then opened them and took one out. He grinned even wider when he saw the radiant smile on her face when she saw that not only was the box of chocolates heart shaped but that the chocolates inside the box were also heart shaped. He pulled one out and then lifted it up to her mouth and fed it to her. His eyes watched her in wonder as she took the piece of chocolate into her mouth and chewed it.
He couldn't get enough of looking at her. He knew that the next step in his plan was jumping the gun but now that he admitted that he loved her and has for a long time he didn't want to waste anymore time. He once again reached into his coat and pulled out a box and then got down on one knee. He heard everything get silent and he looked around to see all of their co-workers and friends staring at him and Emily.
"I know that this may seem a bit sudden but I know what I want Emily and I want you. I love you Emily and I don't want to waste another minute. Will you marry me?" Aaron said.
Emily's breath caught in her chest as she stared down at Aaron. "Yes, yes, yes I will marry you Aaron. God I love you."
Aaron smiled as he slipped the ring onto Emily's finger before standing up and pulling her into his arms. He bent his head and brushed his lips across hers in a fleeting kiss before claiming her lips in a heated kiss. He tore his mouth off of hers when he needed to breathe which happened to coincided with the time he heard applause. He looked around again and blushed when he saw everyone looking at him and Emily still. He looked back at Emily and chuckled when he saw that she was blushing. He pulled her further into his arms and started dancing with her when the song So Close by Jon Mclaughlin started playing.
Emily laid her head on Aaron's shoulder as she swayed to the music with him. She couldn't believe everything that had happened in the last ten minutes but she knew it had happened. She couldn't believe how happy she was now. She looked up at Aaron and saw him smiling down at her and when she looked into his eyes she knew that he was just as happy as she was.
