When Wilbur Met Marahute

Wilbur the Albatross, who was babysitting the eggs that have a few minutes ago hatched, realized something.

"Wait a minute…they're baby eagles. That must mean…that the mother is…a giant eagle? This I gotta see! I hope the mother comes here soon."

A few minutes later, he surely saw a large figure of an eagle come towards him. He also saw a boy on it once it got close enough. Then the creature and the boy stopped at the edge of the nest and noticed him.

"What's that?" the boy said, "An albatross? What's one doing all the way here in the Outback?"

"Hello there," Wilbur said. "This is really a great experience for me. Look at this creature! I feel like a robin to a regular eagle."

"Who are you?" The boy said.

"My name is Wilbur. Bernard convinced me to babysit before he ran off. Your name is…?"

"Cody," the boy said.

"Well. Pleased to make your acquaintance," as he took a bow, "I do a flight service for mice and related called Albatross Air. Now I see a bird that could be a flight service for people. I took Bernard and Bianca here from Manhattan, New York. They were informed that someone was kidnapped. I could have gone with them but my back gave out after the landing."

"Someone told some mice that I was kidnapped?" Cody said in amazement. "That's where those mice came from?"

"You're the one who was kidnapped?" Wilbur said, "So what was it about? Tell me the whole story."

Cody said "Well, it started when I found this creature on this high ridge. She has a name. Marahute. She was trapped in ropes. I cut it free and I had a lot of fun riding on it. It left me on the ground within walking distance of my house. Then I fell into a trap which brought a poacher to my attention who noticed by a feather I got, that I have met this bird that he was after. He wanted to capture her and sell her for a lot of money. He kidnapped me and takes me to his hideout. He tries to make me reveal where Marahute was nesting. It seemed he succeeded in tricking me into leading him to her. And I was unable to stop him from catching Marahute in a cloth net that he launched at her. I was put in his truck with Bianca, Jake, and Marahute. And he decided to try and feed me to the crocodiles at Croc Falls. Bernard succeded in making him fall into the river and then inevitably went down the waterfall. And I was stopped from going down the waterfall for a while by Bernard, and Marahute was released from the cage by Bianca and Jake and this bird caught me before I hit the bottom. And now here we are. I thought that the poacher destroyed the eggs. Maybe Bernard, before he came to rescue us, put decoys."

Wilbur said "I wish I could have seen it. Well, I'd better be off. Take care of your hatchlings, Marahute."

Wilbur flew off into the distance.

Cody said to Marahute "Well. Looks like you aren't gonna be last of your kind after all. Anyway, they're all yours. I can walk home from here. So long."

And Cody walked off as Marahute went to care for her young.
