Edmund and Aslan's talk

Edmund was scared. Even more scared than when he was with the witch.

He knew he had messed up big time - people had even been turned into stone because of his treachery!

Now, he had been rescued, but Aslan wanted to talk with him…alone.

In the great lion's presence, the boy was terrified of the judgment that awaited him.

"Come." the lion had said simply.

Shaking, Edmund had followed reluctantly.

Aslan continued to walk until he had reached a high rock that overlooked his army.

Then, he sat down and waited for Edmund to stand next to him.

The latter did exactly that - with great difficulty.

Edmund glued his eyes to floor, completely unwilling to say anything.

"Edmund? Why don't you speak?" Aslan growled softly.

Edmund's eyes did not leave their post.

"I don't really feel like I deserve to." Edmund answered quietly.

Aslan considered the boy.

"You feel guilty." Aslan said.

"Yes - I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am As…your highness." Edmund revealed desperately, unable to call Aslan by his name, but trying to show the great lion as much respect as possible.

Aslan noticed this.

"Call me Aslan. Now Edmund - are you truly sorry for what you have done?" he stressed.

"Yes - I'm so sorry! Could you ever forgive me Aslan?" Edmund suddenly exclaimed, desperate for mercy.

"I do forgive you son - can you forgive yourself?" Aslan replied tenderly.

Edmund looked down again, but then looked back up.

"If you help me." he answered.

"I will. It may do well for you not to speak to your siblings about recent events…"

"EDMUND!" Lucy suddenly shouted.

Edmund and Aslan turned to see Peter stop Lucy as she ran towards them.

He whispered something in her ear before looking back at the pair.

"Go on." Aslan nodded.

Edmund obeyed and Aslan followed shortly.

The end.
