Bubbles had always enjoyed life. One moment, one crash, and two deaths would change all of that, however. It would forever transform her into a shadow of her former self that only a certain Rowdyruff Boy could fix.

It all started on a bright sunny day in Townsville. The Powerpuff Girls were busy fighting Him. Although the Girls were excellent fighters, Him was too powerful. Him finally accepted defeat and vanished in a pink swirl of cloud. Him's new creations, the Rowdyruff Boys, were the Girls' next challengers.

Each of the Girls matched up with their counterpart. Blossom took on Brick, while Bubbles fought Boomer and likewise with Buttercup and Butch. The Boys, however, were too strong for the Girls, and sent them down into the street, creating a deep crater. All three of the Girls rose up out of the crater, landing on the street next to it.

Mojo Jojo then baited the Girls into chasing him to a railroad crossing, where he tied them to the tracks and diverted the switches so that an eastbound freighter would crash into a westbound passenger train on the crossing, thus killing the Girls. Of the three, only Bubbles was able to break free. Blossom and Buttercup had already resigned themselves to their fate, and Bubbles flew off just before the crash.

At the funeral 3 days later, Bubbles delivered a passionate speech about how much her sisters had meant to her, and how much she would miss them. As the coffins were being lowered into the ground, she finally lost control and flew off to a private place where no one could see her bawl her eyes out. Boomer just happened to be walking nearby.

When Bubbles saw Boomer, she screamed, "Go away, Boomer! Your stupid father, Mojo Jojo, killed my sisters 3 days ago and I need some ALONE TIME!" Boomer quietly complied. Bubbles was inconsolable. She dropped out of elementary school and decided to join her sisters.

The next night, while the Professor was asleep, she stole some Antidote X and snuck out of the house. Going to the roof of the highest building in Townsville, she said her goodbyes to the world. She was about to drink the Antidote X and end her life, when suddenly, Boomer appeared beside her. He said, "Bubbles, don't kill yourself over what happened to your sisters. You have SO MUCH to live for! The town needs you. The Professor needs you. I need you! I know my brothers will kill me for saying this, but Bubbles, I've been in love with you from the start."

Bubbles was touched by Boomer's kind words. Nonetheless, she punched him so that he landed on the other side of the roof. She then drank the Antidote X and jumped off the roof. Boomer saw this, and raced down to the ground floor, screaming, "BUBBLES! BUBBLES! BUBBLES!" along the way.

Boomer was too late, however. When he got outside, he saw a crowd gathered around a hole in the concrete. In the hole lay the lifeless body of Bubbles. EMTs were frantically trying to revive her, to no avail. At 3:30 AM on June 24, 2013, Bubbles Utonium, the last of the Powerpuff Girls, was finally pronounced dead.

Epilogue

A few months after the death of Bubbles, Boomer decided he'd had enough of life. His own brothers were abusive toward him for being in love with a Powerpuff Girl, and a dead one too. He repeated the actions that Bubbles had taken a few months ago, with the same results.
