ok when Magnus decides to 'split himslef' you have to have watched the Don't jump music video to know what I'm talking about... just so you know...

Alec couldn't take it anymore. He pushed on the exit door and ran up the stairs to the roof. Alec shoved the roof door open, tears already running down his face. He felt the cold, chilly, polluted New York air on his face, and tried to breathe slowly and think about what had just happened. He was at Magnus's 801st birthday party. God he laughed at himself through his tears, why was he dating such and old guy! Alec didn't like going to Magnus's parties. They always seem to end up badly. Tonight had been the last straw for Alec. First, it was the vampire boy, then the faerie boy, now this young, werewolf boy. They all had one thing in common; they had all been seen kissing Magnus. Before Alec knew what he was doing he started to sing:

"On top of the roof,
the air is so cold and so calm,"

Alec leaned over the edge of the roof feeling sick.

"I say your name in silence
you don't wanna hear it right now
the eyes of the city
are counting the tears falling down
each one a promise
of everything you never found…."

Alec stepped up on to the edge of the roof, still crying…

Magnus threw the werewolf boy out. "And stay out!" He growled at the wolf. The werewolf boy scampered away, terrified. Magnus nodded in satisfaction, then, by some greater power, Magnus looked up. Alec was on the edge of the roof. Magnus called up to him, horrified.

"I scream into the night for you
don't make it true
don't jump
the lights will not guide you through
They're deceiving you
don't jump
don't let memories go,

Of me and you
the world is down there out of view"

Then Magnus whispered as if Alec was right next to him,

"Please don't jump..."

Then he bolted inside.

Alec was still crying and still singing, but he had closed his eyes. Then for some odd reason he opened them.

"You open your eyes
but you can't remember what for
the snow falls quietly
you just can't feel it no more" Alec cried.

"Somewhere out there
you lost yourself in your pain
you dream of the end
to start all over again..."

Magnus was half way up the stairs, when he had an idea, he leaned forward and split himself into, separating half his soul from his other half. The one would speed ahead and talk Alec out of jumping and the other would run after to help save him. The process hurt though so as he did this he screamed:

"I scream into the night for you
Don't make it true
Don't jump
The lights will not guide you through
They're deceiving you
Don't jump
Don't let memories go
Of me and you
The world is down there out of view
Please don't jump
Don't jump!" The ghost that ran up the stairs continued the song.

"I don't know how long
I can hold you so strong
I don't know how long…" the ghost pushed open the door.

Alec spun around to face Magnus. Magnus's half became whole again and Magnus stuck out his hand and walked forward and sung

"Just take my hand
Give it a chance
don't jump…." Alec shook his head and Magnus screamed, diving after Alec,

"Scream into the night for you,

Don't make it true
Don't jump
The lights will not guide you through
They're deceiving you
Don't jump
Don't let memories go
Of me and you
The world is down there out of view
Please don't jump
Don't jump!" Magnus took Alec by the hand. Alec looked down at Magnus painfully.

"And if all that can't hold you back…" Magnus stepped up next to Alec, holding both his hands.

"I'll jump for you"
