They were best friends, the indestructible group but then tragedy struck. She had died, it was an accident, she'd fallen into the road and the car hadn't had time to react. She was dead on impact. Since then he had watched them float away. The trouble maker had began skipping school, her good influence gone. Mr perfect had given in to his agression and had put Harley keiner to shame. Farkle bless his heart had tried to keep up with them but was left in the dust. Zay always kept an eye on farkle but had lost his way. All due to the fact they had become unstuck and Mr Matthews was sick of it so as he looked over them he asked a burning question.

"What happened?" Maya looked at him, her black clothes shimmering in the light but never answered. Lucas clenched his fists and Zay sunk Into his seat. Farkle looked Riley's dad in the eye.

"We became unstuck" he answered.

"Riley was our glue sir, were nothing without her" Zay said. A tense atmosphere settled on the room as Mr Matthews tried not to scream.

"You're unstuck without her but what is she without you?" Maya looked up, her face ablaze with anger.

"You think we forget Matthews?, even without you we never forget" Mr Matthews Sat down but farkle stood up, tears running down his face.

"Yes you did Maya, Lucas and even Zay. Yes you think about her but you don't remember her. You don't remember how you all smile with her you forget her spirit and God damn it you forget what this friendship meant to her!" He said slamming his fist on the desk. Maya looked at him shocked but Lucas stood up and pushed farkle over.

"I loved her!" Farkle laughed mercilessly.

"Loved, past tense and she forgave you for falling for Maya but she never forgave you for lying" he stood up and dusted himself down.

" Maya became missy, Lucas became a bully and Zay lost his laugh. I'm not saying I didn't change but I wanted to keep us together and now I'm done. Riley died but we killed her memory by losing each other" and then he left.

It happened eventually, they drifted. Once a year there was the occasional hello at Riley's grave but it was never enough. Riley was gone and so was the middle ground. It happened slowly but the glue dried out and so did they.
