12th SR fic. Another short one this time. Inspired by a Fresh Pretty Cure episode.
Prince Lumen rushed into the main hall of Arachna castle. He had been running around the entire castle searching for Sparkle. While they were spending time together, Lumen left his room for a few minutes and came back to find her missing.
"Where could she be?" he thought. "I can't believe that she'd disappear like this..." Then he noticed that one of the castle gates was half-opened.
"She's left the castle!" Lumen gasped.
"Prince Lumen?" a voice said.
Lumen turned around and saw Slate, one of the Arachnian knights and Igneous' friend.
"Is something wrong?" Slate asked.
"Of course not, everything's fine." Lumen replied, as he hurried out of the castle gates.
He rushed through the castle town, asking people if they'd seen Sparkle around, most of them had no idea, until one of them explained that they'd seen the princess running towards the flower fields. Lumen then thanked them and began heading towards the location.
When he reached the flower fields, he carefully looked around to see if he could spot his sister anywhere. Unfortunately, there was no sign of her and so he began running through the fields, checking everywhere, but she wasn't there.
"She's not here either." Lumen said with a sigh. He then turned around and looked at the forest behind him. Without hesitation, the prince walked towards it and entered.
He ran in different directions, calling out Sparkle's name, hoping to get a reply, but it seemed there was no sign of life anywhere. After a while, he stopped to catch his breath and dropped to the ground on his knees and opened his mouth.
"Where are you, Sparkle!" Lumen yelled. He sighed. Nothing. All hope seemed to be lost for the prince. "I...have...to find her, I must find her!" he spoke. He stood up and began running again, at top speed this time.
"Sparkle..." he said, as he began to speed up. "...CAN YOU HEAR ME?!"
Suddenly, he saw a few figures from a distance and stopped running. "Could it be?" he wondered. He resumed running and began to get closer. He eyes then widened and saw that it was the other Spider Riders. He then looked closely and was shocked: Sparkle was with them!
"Sparkle!" he shouted.
The young princess turned her head and so did the others.
"Prince Lumen!" Hunter said, surprised to see him. "We didn't think you'd come here!"
Lumen stopped when he finally reached them. "Where have you been all day? We were hoping you'd come find us." Igneous spoke.
Lumen nodded and then turned to Sparkle, he stared at her for a few seconds.
"What's wrong, Lumen?" Sparkle asked.
"I've been looking all over for you!" Lumen snapped.
He then walked towards her. Sparkle had fear in her eyes. She thought that he was going to yell at her, but instead he knelt down and put his hands on her shoulders. Tears suddenly began to well up in his eyes and he hugged his little sister in relief.
"I'm sorry." Lumen said. "I'm so glad you're safe and sound..." His tears rolled down his cheeks. "I was so afraid that something had happened to you..."
"I'm sorry that I worried you, Lumen." Sparkle told him. Tears were beginning to well up in her eyes too.
Lumen let go of Sparkle and smiled. "Promise me you'll never run away again, Sparkle..." He told her.
Sparkle nodded and also smiled. "I promise."
