Don't you guys just love Nuna? I do. Luna and Neville both seem to be rejects, but we find out that actually they're both brave and loyal and they play a really big part in the war. They deserve each other, and I can't think of anyone who goes together better (aside from maybe Draco + Harry, Ron + Hermione, and Snape + Lily, but they;re all equal in my mind!). Hope you enjoy it!
To Keep the Nargles Away
It was the end of another DA meeting, and Neville was among the last to remain in the Room of Requirement, with Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Luna as always. It was the second to last meeting before Christmas, and the room had already decorated itself with garlands such as mistletoe and holly.
"You two ok with getting back?" Harry asked as him and his two best friends turned to leave.
Neville nodded, and Luna hadn't even noticed Harry speak, so the trio left together. The now lone Gryffindor turned to the Ravenclaw, and watched as she inspected a bunch of mistletoe for Nargles. He was amazed at how beautiful her long blonde hair was in the light, and how carefully her hands moved when searching the plant.
He had wanted to approach her for some time, and now felt right. With a wave of courage, Neville moved closer to her, and handed over a small dark blue cotton bag with a silver cord keeping it together (he had specifically picked out the Ravenclaw colours for her). Luna took the bag, and pulled out a long chain of butterbeer corks. She looked up at him with plain curiosity.
"To keep the Nargles away" he told her, and kissed the girl on her soft lips.
