One thing before you read the story Sab is my character plz don't use her
without my permission. Harvey is a very funny play/movie I saw and it gave
me the idea. This is sorta a background story for sab and since i didnt have
any interesting ideas for it i got this....
A girl around the age of 16 sat alone at the counter of the Manhattan Gambler's Bar.
She had long dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She had tan skin and was of medium height.
She was almost completely drunk even thogh she only had 2 beers.
"You'se an odd looking thing!"Sab exclaimed when she "saw" a 6 foot white rabbit
standing in the doorway of the bar. The rabbit nodded and came and sat down.
"Soooo what's yer name?"she asked the empty chair sitting next to her
"My name is whatever you want it to be" the rabbit "replied" to her
"Oooo really!" she exclaimed "well I'm gonna call you'se" she thought for a moment
"HARVEY! I love your name Mista Harvey!" She then held out her hand offering to shake and
spit at the floor and made a shaking motion. "so where you from Mista Harvey?" she asked
"him" she appeared to be listening to what he was saying then adter a few seconds said
"Really? You'se from Phila aahh Delp HEe Aah?" she stumbled on the word "I'se neva been
there, but I'se hoid its nice dis time a day"
She suddenly got up and said "Hey Harvey you'se wanna dance?" she held out her hand
for him then started dancing around the bar. The other customers hardly noticed the young
girl waltzing around the room with an imaginary partner for they were almost drunker than
she.
"Wow Harvey"she said exasperated"you'se a great dancer!" and she sat back down "so
Harvey why you'se heah in Manhattan?"she looked at the "rabbit" sitting next to her then
said "You'se came heah for me?, dats soo sweet Harvey!" then she nodded her head like she
was listening him say something "well da reason I'm heah is well, well its a long story.
Do you'se really wanna hear it? Ya's do? Well den i guess I'll tell ya; from the begining."
She giggled then started her story" Well Ise was born in 1884, right here in New Yawk."
she paused for a moment "My parents you ask? Well deys didnt care to much about me, they didn't
hate me, they jus never really talked ta me real like. I guess it was cuz they woiked so hard
so they could put me trew school" she paused again. "Well i went ta school at one of da finest
dance school in New Yawk, Madame Belfrey's School of Dance. I started when I was 3. Well
anyways when i was around oh let me see 10 i ran into some Newsies and we became good
friends." she looked at him again "Yes Harvey, you'se my friend to I started to sell part
time as a newsie, but I still when to school. When I was 14 I'se well left home and went to
live at da Manhattan Lodging House, and I'se sold as a newsie part time." she looked at the
rabbit. " Yeah I still went ta school till about 6 months ago when my tuition ran out. So I'se
became a newsie full time." She waved over the bar tender "2 drinks please."she smiled at him.
"So Harvey, you've been quiet. I hope you like your drink" and she passed him the other
drink. She took a small drink then hit her head on the counter."Oow! That hoit!"she yelled."So
Harvey you gotta job?"she listened to "him" then said "You dont gotta job? You must come from a
rich fam'ly den." she nodded at him "Well I'se hope ta be a singa or actress someday. How bout
you'se?"she paused"You'se wanna be a fire fighta?"she laughed at him.
She then realized she had no money then said "I'se better get going Harvey, it was nice
meetin' ya." And with that she stood up clumsily and walked toward the door.When she got to
the door she wavd at "him" and said "I'm neva drinkin again, I almost hit tha door!"she laughed
and stumbled back to the LH.
