The New Mamodo Battle - Beginning
"Every 1000 years, the fight to decide the new king of the mamodo world takes place. 100 mamodo children travel from their world to ours to take place in this fight. With them, they each bring a spell book of a different color, and they team up with a human who is able to read the spells from their books. The rules to the battle are simple: destroy as many books as you can, and be the last mamodo standing."

Today was the day that everything would change. Sixteen year old Nathanial Maxonson awoke to a violent explosion. He was panicked, so he ran to the window to see what had happened.
"W-what the-"
The field that was once full of flowers and trees was now ablaze. Nathanial had to act fast. He went to wake up his parents. But when he got to their room, he was horrified to see their lifeless bodies.
"N-no!" He screamed.
There was a strange odor in the air. Smoke. The house was on fire, his time was limited. Nathanial ran downstairs as fast as he could, nearly tripping on his night clothes as he did so. He charged the front door, and ran outside.
"Help!" he yelled. But he knew that no one would answer. His parents had moved out here to get away from everything. From the violence of the world. Nathanial knew that he would die here. But still he ran. He ran to the forest, where he knew there to be a river.
The rocks and twigs of the forest hurt his bare feet as he ran. But it didn't matter. He needed to get to that water. It was only a matter of time before the fire reached the forest. Nathanial was almost there. He could hear the sound of running water. But he could also smell the smoke from the flames.
Another explosion went off just feet from where Nathanial stood. He fell to the ground, hard.
"uhh…" he groaned.
There was a creaking noise. He looked up to see that one of the trees was about to collapse on him. Nathanial was in no condition to run. This was it. The end. It snapped, and fell.
Nathanial closed his eyes and covered his face with his arms. He waited. Waited for the pain. The death. But it did not come. Why was he not hurt? Nathanial opened his eyes.
Standing in front of him, and holding the fallen tree up from the ground, was a strange person. He had snow white hair, and strange markings under his deep blue eyes. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a red undershirt, and worn blue jeans. And he had a bag around his shoulder. Though it only seemed large enough to carry a book.
He spoke. "Hurry up and run!" He yelled. Nathanial did as he was told. He crawled away as fast as he could, until he was out of the tree's path. The stranger threw the tree out of the way as if it were nothing, and then went to Nathanial's side.
"My name's Kairu. I'm gonna get you outta here." he said. Nathanial was tired. He quickly fell to sleep as the boy called Kairu lifted him into the air, and ran away from the flames.
