Chapter 1: The Legend
A long time ago the earth was a desolate place. Life could not be supported. There was no water, no air, no continents, and no world. The spirits of the four elements, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air, created the world as we know it, as well as bestowed the gift of the four elements. Fire with its beauty. Water with its grace. Earth with its strength. And Air with its will.
They then bestowed the gift of life. They gave birth to the worlds creatures. The dragons of fire. The moon and ocean of water. The badger-mole of the deep earth. And the sky bison of the air.
The last item they bestowed was the gift of control, and to keep balance and peace in the world gave the earth four humans, two men two women, to control the four elements. The first benders. Then Air's child gave birth a story known as the maternal odyssey. She named him Kona and he was fascinated by the elements. He realized that the earth needed to grow and persuaded the spirit of --------- to give the gift of eight non-benders. And they grew to the size of thousands.
The bending masters passed their knowledge to their children and made an agreement that the earth might need a keeper of the peace and with their spirits created one more child, an air bender that possessed the ability to bend all four elements. Her name was Jin and she became the first avatar. The elemental masters trained her and she became a master in all four elements. She and the master of air took to the mountains and made civilization there. The air benders and some of the population of non-benders became the air nomads. The earth master took the biggest continent because he thought it fit for his earth benders. The benders and some of the non-benders became the earth kingdom. The water master took liking to the north and south poles because she could bend ice more easily in the cold. Her water benders and non-benders became the water tribes. The fire master loved the heat of the equator and found land that was warm and sunny there. His fire benders and non-benders became the fire nation.
The days of the masters grew slim and in a hope to give the world balance condensed their power into an orb. Fire made the orb of Kaon. Water made the orb of Aisu. Earth made the orb of Yurasu. Air made the orb of Uindo. The orbs were set to find hosts in a time of need. They would give the hosts amazing power on one condition: restore peace. The masters passed and the Avatar grew old. The avatar took four of her old toys and the spirits made it so that only the avatar would take the toys when or she was reincarnated into the next nation in the avatar cycle. Starting at air then water then earth then fire. The avatar soon passed and the earth went into panic they had no leaders. The water sages found the next avatar and then earth. The avatar cycle has now returned to Aang, an air bender, and the orbs are about to find hosts in this time of war.
