Oliver sighed in frustration as he returned to his car. He had spent the past hour looking for Chloe, unfortunately with no such luck. As he started his car, he asked himself why relationships were so complicated. He was beginning to wonder whether or not he was meant to be alone.

He thought about Lois. There was a time when he had wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. When he finally came to terms with his feelings for her, however, it was too late. She had already moved on with Clark Kent.

Although Oliver knew that he would always love Lois in a way, he wasn't in love with her anymore. They were both different people now, with different goals in mind. All that was left for him to do now was convince Chloe of that. He drove to the Watchtower thinking that she would be there, when he discovered her absence. He suddenly felt a growing determination to find her, and decided to head back to his place. Finding Chloe was the only thought in his mind. When he made it back to the Clock Tower, he walked towards the elevator.

"Oliver." He heard someone call his name as he turned around the corner.

"Chloe." He said, surprised to see her at elevator coming towards him. She was carrying two cups of coffee in her hands.

"I was beginning to think you weren't going to show." She told him.

"I-." They both started to say but stopped and smiled at each other.

"I was just out looking for you." He told her as they sat down on a nearby bench.

"Really?" She said, smiling slowly. "I was just doing the same thing." She admitted handing him his coffee. "Peace offering."

He accepted the coffee, and took a sip. "I'm sorry", he said. "I should have been more upfront with you from the beginning."

"You don't need to-." She started, stopping when Oliver raised his hand up.

"Yes, I do." He insisted, with a small frown on his face. He took a deep breath. "I will always love Lois, but I'm not in love with her anymore", he began to explain. "I never truly let her in. I wasn't ready to let her see the real me and when I finally was, it was too late. In the end, I realized that we're both different people."

She was silent. He took this as an indication to continue.

"I've come to care about a lot, Chloe", he admitted. "I would really like to see where this goes, and I don't want to lose you over something that happened in the past", he finished. He looked at her nervously, waiting for her reply.

She sighed. "I don't want to lose you either", she told him. "I'm sorry, I wasn't making it any easier", she said apologetically, concern in her face. "It's just that you've been in love with her so long. I thought that you still were, and you never really tried to convince me otherwise", she added, shrugging her shoulders.

"I know." He told her, ashamed of how he treated her. "I never wanted you to think that you were a replacement for Lois", he said. "It's just that we were trying to keep this low key and things got out of hand. I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt you." He apologized to her.

"I should have let you explained instead of jumping to conclusions. "She said, knowing that the fault was with herself also.

"What do you think about having dinner with me tonight?" He asked hopefully.

"I would love that", She said with a smile. The pair got up from the bench, and walked into the elevator. Oliver reached for her hand as the doors closed.
