I thought of this story this morning and had to write it. Love it, hate it, please enjoy it. Haha.

It was the last night at Camp Rock and the camp was having an end of summer party. While everyone was inside the lavishly decorated cafeteria, Tess was outside, admiring the dark atmosphere. A chill of wind blew past her and she shivered, pulling her designer coat tighter around herself. She looked up towards the night sky. There were an infinite number of stars but one shone brighter than the others. One twinkled at her, almost like a wink between two lovers.

"What are you doing out here?"

Tess turned around and saw Shane Grey holding a plate of chocolate cake. He was dressed in a button down gray shirt and matching tie. Dark brown slacks completed the outfit. His hair was messy, bangs falling into his eyes but the look worked for him. "I didn't feel like being inside,'' she answered and turned to look at the night sky again.

He walked and stood next to her. "Tell me about it. It's really noisy and I think there's going to be a food fight,'' he joked, smiling.

"You don't want to be inside with Mitchie?" Since Final Jam, Shane and Mitchie have been inseparable. They became the camp's golden couple and Tess believed they were soul-mates.

Shane shrugged. "She's busy talking to Caitlyn and Peggy. Besides, even the 'golden couple' needs a breather sometimes," he said knowingly, smirking.

Tess blushed and she was really glad it was dark.

"The stars are really beautiful tonight," Shane commented, staring at the sky in awe.

She nodded in agreement. "They are. See that one?" she pointed to a star that she felt was the shiniest. "That one is my favorite. It reminds me of you.''

Shane looked at her in surprise. "Me?" He pointed to himself.

"Ever since I was little, I always loved to chase stars. I knew they were impossible to catch but I never stopped trying. Because once I do, I have to tell myself that it's over.''

Shane stared at her and neither of them said a word. She knew that he knew she wasn't just talking about the astronomical objects of the universe.

"Jason and Nate are inside…'' he said finally.

She knew what he was telling her. He was telling her to give up on him and date other boys. The thought pained her and she could not stop the tears from producing. She turned her back towards him so he could not see her river flow. She quickly wiped the tears from eyes and smiled slightly. "I'm not giving up on my dream. You should know me better than that."

Shane grinned. "I admire your persistence Tyler.''

She smiled back. "Thanks Grey.'' She started to head back to the cafeteria.

"Maybe you will catch that star someday," he called out to her.

She heard him but kept on walking. "I hope so, Shane. I really hope so,'' she murmured.

She knew it was impossible but she will never stop chasing stars- in particular one star.
