Shadows cover the brilliance of the Sun
Darkness obscures the purity of the Light
Hope swallowed by fear, love by hate
Nothing brought about by pain
All being consumed by it.
Despair clings to the hearts of heroes
Honor is clouded in the minds of the true
Nothing consumes all in its voracity
Darkness cover the light forever
Naught and naught alone shall be left
All bereft of meaning, of value.
A/N This was written in response to what Itsuki said in "The Power Between the Teeth" about how the proof of purity is its ability to be completely stained by darkness. It really bothered me. I know this is short, and disturbing, but I'd like to know what you think anyway. If it's liked, I can post more of my poetry that can be loosely related to various stories…I do have a couple that I wrote a long time ago that would fit in the YYH fandom arena, even though they were not specifically written for YYH.
