Chapter one: Freak
In appearance, Luna looked like any other teenage girl of fifteen. With long, silver hair that swept down to her hips, stunning sea foam green eyes and delicate looking face, she was as beautiful as a porcelain doll. But no one saw her as beautiful. No, they saw her as a liar, an outsider. A freak. Why you ask? Because she had a gift. A gift maybe she only had. But it's best to start at the beginning.
About ten years ago, during a terrible thunderstorm, the scared children of Hitori Orphanage were huddled together, arguing who should look out the window. After half an hour the eldest of the girls went up to the windows. When she looked through it her eyes widened and she gasped, then started running to the head mistress yelling at the top of her lungs:
"Mistress Rida! There's a girl on the sidewalk!"
Suddenly no one was afraid of the storm. Everyone crowded around the window to see. Sure enough, on the pavement, was a girl in a long, black cloak with silver hair, no older than five years old, lying there unconscious. As the head mistress carried her inside, everyone crowded around the girl. Then the children noticed a strange pendent around her neck. It was in the shape of a crescent moon. It was a midnight blue and inside, with silver letters one word was written:
Key
One of the younger children reached for the pendent, but as soon as they touched it the girl's eyes suddenly flew open. The child jumped back in surprise as she sat up. The girl groaned and held her head in her hands then noticed the other children staring at her.
"Excuse me, children, excuse me" the head mistress, a rather large women, said as waded through the crowd. "What is your name dear?"
"My…Name?" she whispered questionably, her eyes filled with nothing.
"Yes dear, your name. What is it?" the head mistress asked.
"My name is…is…..Luna" she whispered.
"Luna, you say?" the head mistress asked.
Luna didn't say anything. All she did was nod, staring at the head mistress with blank eyes.
"Luna. What a beautiful name! Now, where did you come from?" the head mistress asked.
"I…I..I..Aaghhhhhhhhh!" Luna screamed and held her head.
"Oh my! Are you alright dear?" the head mistress asked in a panicked tone.
"Don't…..remember…" she muttered just before everything went black.
What am I doing here?
Where did I come from?
Why was I in the storm?
And most importantly,
Who am I?
When she woke everyone was staring at her, yelling at her. But she didn't hear a thing. It took her a moment to realize what was going on. She was being surrounded by wind, which was enveloping her, creating a wall from the other children. They were yelling at to see if she was okay. She was about to shout back that she was fine, but then the strangest thing happened. Someone spoke through the wind.
Hello Luna, it's great to see you.
She looked around. "W-who there?" Luna asked the voice.
Awww, Luna. I all want is a friend. After all, you're the only one who understands me, literally.
"Who are you?" Luna asked blankly.
Isn't it obvious, Luna? I'm the wind.
