Dear Diary,

Hi, my name is Steven Stone, geologist and former Pokemon champion. I will be using this diary to gather my daily thoughts and reflect upon my life.

Until tomorrow,

-Steven

Dear Diary,

Today was a decent day. I went out to get coffee with Wallace and he only nagged at me 6 times. After that I headed off to the caves to search for some new rocks.

Boy, do I love rocks.

-Steven

Yo Diary!

I finally found the rock I was looking for. It's a stunning opal and I will cherish it forever. At the moment, it's sitting on my bedside table. I can't wait to show Wallace!

-Steven

Dear Diary,

I showed Wallace T`aneeka (that's what I named the opal) and he told me I shouldn't be wasting my life away on a stupid rock like that. I pretended to be unaffected, but man, did that cut me deep. I think I'm gonna cut off communication with Wallace for a bit. He sends nothing but bad vibes in my direction.

-Steven

Dear Diary,

For the first few days I cut off communication with Wallace, I was a little lonely, I won't lie about that. However, as time went by, I started to seek more and more company in my rocks. Particularly T`aneeka. I realized her beauty beyond the surface. We laughed together, we cried together, she shared anecdotes of her family life with me, it was all so great.

I think I'm in love, Diary.

-Steven

Dear Diary,

I had a realization today.

I am not a rock.

I will never be able to be with T`aneeka.

-Steven

Dear Diary,

Each day brings me more and more heartbreak. I will never be a rock and never be able to please T`aneeka. It doesn't work like that. I am trying to invent ways in which I could turn into a rock, but alas, nothing. However, I must never give up hope. T`aneeka is waiting for me and I am waiting for her.

I'm coming, baby.

-Steven

Diary,

My mental state is decreasing day by day. I have stopped reading, I have stopped studying. This is the only writing I will be doing for the rest of my life. Some documentation of my transformation needs to exist for scientific purposes. I hope by cutting off most intellectual activities, the transformation into a rock will be sped up. Rocks cannot read so I shouldn't read either. I must live like the rocks.

-Steven

Diary,

I have moved my location to a cave. There are lots of rocks in caves. Every day, I go out to the river and cover my body in sand and pebbles. If I keep this up, the sand and pebbles will become a permanent part of my body. I will be even a step closer to reaching my dream.

-Steven

Diary,

I feel my body stiffening every day and my human attributes are declining. I have had such intense hunger that I, in fact, do not get hungry anymore. I don't move a lot, it might be because I am weak, or it might be because I keep progressing in my transformation. Either way, I know I will be with my T`aneeka soon enough.

May 6, 2020, a team of geologists found a human-shaped rock. The rock appeared to resemble a young-looking man, possibly in his early 30s. Could it be a statue, and not a natural formed rock? When the geologists took it back to the lab for sampling, they found human DNA. Upon closer inspection of the rock, they noticed the word "T`aneeka" carved into the "ankle" of the form, as if it was a tattoo. A deeper exploration of the cave was scheduled. Upon return to where the strange rock was found, a small leather-bound book was recovered.
