A/N: Reborn's characters don't belong to me in any way. But if they did, life would be so much better. (Sighs) …
Hope you enjoy it!
About choices and non-existent regret

That guy.
Yeah, that stupid-foolish-easy-going kinda guy.
Okay, maybe he is not that stupid. He is the head of the Vongola family, of course. He has already been for a while as you already know, and that is mainly because you've been walking beside him through all those years.
For some years of your existence, and for the many years you are still going to stick around, you feel content to help him in any way you can.
He is one of your dearest friends, if not the most important one. You trust him with your life the same way he trusts you with his own. You are his right-hand man, the one he most believes in and you feel obligated not to prove him wrong any day soon.
You are fully aware of the hardships he has overcome and the many obstacles that will keep appearing in his way. Yet, you are going to stand still and support him, for that is your duty as one of his guardians.
And after all those first years when the Vongola Family was created, you are still worried about Giotto's well-being because he is Vongola's Primo and he seems unable to rest for long or leave his duties as the chief of one of the most powerful families of the Mafia for later.
As his Storm guardian, you only allow yourself to follow his orders and play your role as one of his subordinates. Perhaps, making one occasional remark or two, but you still listen to what he has to say. However, as his friend, you worry because he is so close to Death that you can't seem to get a hold of him and drag him out of the dark way he is currently heading to.
He is getting so close to cross that line that you can feel it coming. This feeling of yours has grown stronger with all the days passing. You can feel Death pulling him towards it faster and faster. That's why you can't help but join him on this dark journey of his.
You join him only because you know how important he is to the Vongola and to your own self. And you will never regret your decision because you have always made your own damn choices in life and you never asked for anybody's opinion on any matter. (Almost anyone, but Giotto was an exception).
Well, maybe your life as a Mafioso wasn't what you thought your future would be at first, but you sure didn't mind. Joining the Vongola sure changed your life but you don't regret any second of it. Ever.
It doesn't matter how many comrades you've lost, how many laughter was forgotten along the way. It sure crosses your mind the number of bullets you've shot at the enemies of your Famiglia, eventually you catch yourself getting a hold of the long distant days when not many precious lives were at stake and days when the smell of blood in your hands wasn't so palpable.
You sigh, knowing oh so well that this is how things are. Everything revolves about struggling and the consequences of doing so. And as you throw away those worries for a moment, you laugh at the sky and its greatness. His greatness.
Never looking back, always going onwards.
Because you are the Storm.
Defeat the enemy with a relentless stream of attacks that never falters. Always at the center of an attack, the furious storm that never rests.
Isn't that right, Giotto?
