This was a monologue that I wrote for my creative writing class.
Quest of the Sora, the Key Bearer
That night haunts my dreams.
You know what night I am talking about, right Riku?
The night we lost our friend Kairi.
The one where I lost you.
That night, I saw a storm gathering out at sea.
I was afraid that it would wash away our raft.
Even though there was no rain.
As I ran, shadows chased me with hunger in their eyes.
They were insect-like and every time they touched me,
I felt claws tearing at my heart.
The pain that I felt as the shadows clawed at me,
Was not even close to what I felt when you chose the darkness.
Later, I found out that you caused the storm.
You said it was our ticket
To the outside world.
We both wanted to explore it
You felt like you were suffocating.
I was just curious about other places.
You said you never wanted to return.
I knew I would eventually want to go home.
Because of you, there is no home to go home to.
Now I wander other worlds
And lock away the darkness with a giant key.
I also search for you.
I want to make things right.
I want things to go back to the way they were
And for you to come with me as I lock away the darkness
And you see the error of your selfish ways.
I am not like you, Riku.
You chose darkness.
I choose light.
