AN-

So I felt in Christmas-y mood so I found 'Twas the night before Christmas and I wanted to make it Avengers so here it is!

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through Stark Towers

Not an Avenger was stirring, not even Jarvis.

Stark's clothing was flung through the house without care.

In hopes to get lucky with a blonde, head full of air.

The Avengers were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sleeping in danced through their heads.

And Black Widow with her gun and Phil watching Cap

Had just settled their minds for a long winter's nap.

When out on the streets arose such a clatter.

The team sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.

Away to their windows, they flew like the Flash.

Tore open the windows and threw on their suits.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow

Gave luster of mid-day to objects below.

When what to their wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature army and a look alike reindeer.

With a not so old God, so lethal and quick

They knew in a moment it must be Loki

More rapid than eagles his demands commands they came

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Danish! Now Italian! Now Russian and Chinese!

From Sweden! From America! From Britain and Ireland!

From the top of the mountains! From the top of the hills!

Now kneel! Kneel! Kneel before me all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly

When they meet with an obstacle mount to the sky

So up to the house-top the chitauri they flew.

With a supply filled with guns and Loki too.

And then in a twinkling, they heard on the roof

The shooting and pewing of each little gun.

As they drew in their heads, and were turning around

Down the chimney Loki came with a bound

He was dressed all in leather, from his head to his foot

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

The bundle of toys he had on his back

And he looked peculiar, just opening his pack.

His eyes how they twinkled! His smile how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His thin mouth was drawn up like a bow

And the color of his skin, near white as snow

The bright blue staff he held tight in his hand

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.

He had a narrow little face and very little belly

He shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly

He was lanky and thin, a right old frost giant

And they laughed when they saw him, in spite of themselves!

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head

Soon gave them to know they had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to work

And picked up the clothes and turned with a jerk

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his ride, to his army gave a whistle

And all they flew like the down of a thistle

But they heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight

"Happy Lokimas to all and to all a good night!"
