Could It Be, I've Fallen For You?
Charlie Andrews dies for Sylar's 'Noble Cause', Hiro Nakamura tried to save her. This is the story of Hiro and Charlie as if she had gone to Tokyo with him.
Charlie squealed excitedly, as they stood looking out at the run way stretching out in front of them to form a slightly heat hazed tarmac horizon. Planes, sculptures of metal work stood majestically below, and she couldn't help but feel the anticipation of this trip finally becoming a reality. She turned to Hiro, grinning and embraced him.
"I can't believe we're going to Japan!" he smiled, nothing made him happier than Charlie's own smile.
"But we are -so you can believe."
She chuckled, "I know – I just never thought I'd ever leave Texas. Never dreamed I'd get to go to Japan..." Hiro nodded, he understood. After all, six months ago he never thought he would have gone to New York. Yet, he had. Surprising, how he had been more shocked to be in New York than to discover his ability. It didn't matter though, who needed to be special, and have superpowers, when they were able to be with the person they loved?
Charlie took his hand lightly in hers, and giggled.
"I never thought I'd go to Japan, with someone I love either." Hiro blushed furiously, and looked down at his feet, but Charlie stopped him. "Don't look away, you look cute when you blush." He laughed, blushing even more, but didn't try to hide the fact that he was pleased this time.
"I'm glad you're coming to Japan with me, then,"
She sighed, "who else would I go with?"
"You could have gone with Ando – he's Japanese too."
"I only like one Japanese guy." Hiro smiled ecstatically.
"You could elope with Ando..." Charlie laughed for a minute, punching the Japanese scion's arm playfully. Then her face cleared and become serious.
"I only like one Japanese guy," she repeated, " and you're it." she told him in her Texan drawl.
She knew they were teasing, but there was a great importance behind the conversation. They hadn't mentioned what would become of her soon enough though. She hoped they wouldn't have to, that it could be a happy day, and something he wouldn't cry too much over when it ended. Something to cherish in her very last moments. For eternity.
"Do you like anyone else?" he questioned simply.
"Yes.." Hiro's face fell dramatically.
Charlie winked, " I always did have a bit of a crush on Johnny Depp." he sighed happily, there was no need to worry – he had Charlie.

The next day, Charlie drew back the heavy drapes, and opened her window, breathing in deeply. Outside there was city as far as she could see, tall, steeping, shining city, constructed from glass and steel, orderly. Outside looked like japan, smelt like Japan (as as breakfast told her – tasted like Japan -Japan tastes rather nice too) They were there. Japan. Nihong. Home of the Japanese language – Nihongo..
"Ohayou!" Charlie shouted loudly from her wide window, spreading her arms wide, and giddily closing her eyes. She was where she most wanted to be. It felt right, and special. It felt like home.
There was a light tap at the door, and Hiro called to her.
"It's the afternoon."
"Konnichiwa!" He chuckled, lightly.
"Shall I show you around?" Charlie nodded eagerly, then realised he couldn't see her - unless, he secretly had x-ray vision...after all, he could stop time, what else might he be able to do?
Hastily, she looked down at herself. Shorts and a vest top -not terrible, but, not flattering.
"I'd love to be shown around Tokyo!" she called back, as she padded around her large room trying to remember where she had discarded her clothes the night before.
"I shall meet you in the lobby then."
"Hai!" Hiro chuckled again, and she heard his footfalls fading away as he left her door and moved down the corridor away from her.
