Chapter 1: The Contest

The StreetPass Arena was loaded with people, animals, and monsters. It was another big event that brought kingdoms together for one week of glorious battle between heroes. In attendance were two young robot children; Beck and Call. The two were currently attending the Hall of Champions to see the winners of previous battles before Beck was called to fight. Call remarked at the many fighters, "Gee Beck." The blonde robot girl said, "You got yourself some serious competition."
Beck rolled his eyes, "Don't say stuff like that Call, it could ruin my mojo. I don't wanna loose, especially if I have to go against that blue knight." The boy told his sister. Call chuckled.
"Yeah, I heard he took down an evil Enchantress all by himself. Evil scientists are nothing compared to Enchantresses." Call remarked, wanting to get a rise out of her brother. She succeeded by seeing his agitated face glance to her. The two were stopped by the sound of a robot voice calling from the StreetPass Arena.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Our battles are about to begin!" The voice called out.
Call grabbed Beck's arm, "Let's go!" And ran off to the Arena.
The StreetPass Arena was big. It was much larger than the boxing rings Beck trained in during his prep for the fights. As he approached the entrance to his side of the battle field, a square looking robot with a colorful front face wheeled out. "Ladies and gentlemen! Monsters and Humans! Our battles will begin in one moment!" Mettaton announced to the screaming crowds. "We must announce the sponsors of the battles this year; The princess of pop, the leader of being bratty, give a round of applause for Princess Riva!" Mettaton shouted, motioning to a blonde girl about the age of fourteen in a pink dress, Riva waved to the crowds. "And let's not forget, he's the king of the underground, the leader to all monsters, give it up for King Asgore!" Motioning to the goat man in purple robes, giving a humble wave. "Do you two have any words before we start?"
Asgore spoke, "May these battles be fun and safe for all who participate!"
"Let the battles begin!" Riva interrupted.
Mettaton turned his attention to the crowds, "Our first set of fighters are a newbie and a veteran. Our first fighter was made to save the city, he's the mighty ninth robot, give it up for Beck!" The crowd cheered as Beck walked out, he heard his sister screaming over everyone else.
"Our other fighter is humble knight of the lands, he digs up Justice like he digs up dirt, lets strike the earth for Shovel Knight!" Shovel Knight walked out to greet the crowds, raising his shovel in a heroic pose.
As Mettaton left the ring, Beck and Shovel Knight met face to face. Beck held out his hand, "It's an honor to fight against you Mr. Knight."
"Same to you Sir Beck. Now, don't hold back and fight valiantly!" And the two struck a pose, Beck readying his arm cannon and Shovel Knight readying his shovel.
