GAY RAIN : Only Heat in the Light of the Sun
Ken x Ryu
He knew it was wrong, yet it felt so right. Here he stood, cradled in the embrace of his best friend. They'd trained together, they'd fought together, they'd sought each other at their weakest. Even when he got married to Eliza every day he spent with her hurt him down to his very core. The admiration and love in her eyes spoke wonders of her feelings for him, yet all he could do was look at her in indifference. She didn't deserve him, she was wonderful and she deserved everything she ever wanted, he was an injustice to her. Too afraid to face and tell her the truth for years, so incredibly weak that he saught Ryu and wrapped his arms around him hoping to find the salvation he so desperately needed from his lie.
There was no denying how he felt, every time he saw Ryu his heart skipped a beat. The way his body would gracefully move in combat, his rippling muscles, his smile that was only reserved for Ken. Ken knew that he was the only one for him. The only one to make him feel this way.
How would he react he wandered if he were to express his feelings right here in his embrace, he stared passionately into Ryu's eyes and pressed his lips to his. He quickly realized what he was doing and pulled away...only to find that he couldn't. Ryu's grip held firm as he returned the kiss. As a crystal shimmer flowed down Ken's cheeks he couldn't help but realize how much of a fool he was. If only he'd shown how he had felt earlier... Now he could finally let go...
"No"
he said to himself as he pushed Ryu away.
" I don't deserve this. you don't need someone like me in your life, you don't need someone who's run away for so long and lied to the ve
ry woman who's loved him so dearly for 8 years!"
Before Ryu could say anything Ken placed his hand on Ryu's mouth ushering him to stop.
A long silence stagnated between the two, Ken thought back to everything in his life that has lead up to this very moment. Of the friends he's made, the accomplishments he's made and the people's he's loved. Looking up and staring into the scarlet tinges of dusk, he came to his decision.
"Ryu..."
He smiled the his greatest smile, a smile that told Ryu everything. Ryu didn't want him to say it, not now, not here!
"Thank you"
Ken turned his back to Ryu and walked away. Ryu's legs were frozen. He knew, Ken had chosen to face the life he'd led himself to with his head held high. Away from him.
As he watched his best friend...the love of his life disappear into the horizon he couldn't help but think, he should've told him sooner.
Despite the sky showing no signs of clouds, the two street fighters couldn't help but think that it was an awfully rainy day
